AMÉMÉ Releases Chulo After One Tribe's First Ibiza Residency

19 de September de 2026

West African-born DJ and producer AMÉMÉ has released his new track Chulo, arriving shortly after the conclusion of One Tribe's first dedicated Ibiza residency at Cova Santa.

Released on September 18, 2026 through Altra Moda Music, Chulo is an Afro House track that had already featured in AMÉMÉ's DJ sets for several months before its official release.

The release follows a significant summer for the artist and his One Tribe collective, which brought its community-focused concept to Ibiza for the first time with a five-week residency.

Chulo arrives after a summer on the dancefloor

According to the release announcement, Chulo had been building anticipation through AMÉMÉ's summer performances before becoming one of the tracks frequently requested during his sets.

The studio release now gives listeners an official version of a track that had already been heard in his live performances.

The track is listed as Afro House, with a running time of 2 minutes and 42 seconds and a tempo of 124 BPM.

Released through Altra Moda Music

Chulo was released through Altra Moda Music on September 18.

The label's current catalogue lists both Chulo and the extended mix, with the latter also identified as an Afro House release and dated September 18, 2026.

One Tribe's first dedicated Ibiza residency

The release comes after One Tribe completed its first dedicated Ibiza residency at Cova Santa.

The residency ran for five Thursday dates from July 30 through August 27, 2026, with each session running from 19:00 until late.

It was presented by AMÉMÉ, the founder of One Tribe, a collective that began as a party series in Brooklyn in 2017 before developing into a wider platform incorporating music, art and fashion.

Five Thursdays at Cova Santa

The Ibiza residency brought together AMÉMÉ with a changing selection of international artists.

The opening night on July 30 featured Jamiie, KILIMANJARO, LP Giobbi, Nenahalena and Yung Omz alongside AMÉMÉ.

The following weeks included artists such as HoneyLuv, Awen, Da Capo, Kasango, Vanco, Coco & Breezy and Kitty Amor.

The final date on August 27 featured AMÉMÉ, Cincity B2B Philou Louzolo, Coco & Breezy, Kitty Amor and Nenahalena.

A first Ibiza home for One Tribe

The Cova Santa residency represented the first dedicated Ibiza residency for One Tribe.

The collective has previously presented events and showcases in cities including Amsterdam, Berlin, London and New York, according to the residency announcement.

The Ibiza programme extended that international activity into a five-week run at Cova Santa rather than a single standalone showcase.

From Benin to the international Afro House scene

AMÉMÉ, whose real name is Hubert Sodogandji, was born in Benin and is based between the international music scenes in Europe and the United States.

According to his published biography, he developed One Tribe in Brooklyn in 2017, building it around Afro House and a community-oriented approach to electronic music.

His musical background has also included influences from his Beninese heritage alongside house, deep house and tribal percussion.

A track connected to the Ibiza season

Chulo's release timing gives the track a direct connection to AMÉMÉ's 2026 Ibiza chapter.

It was released less than a month after the final One Tribe date at Cova Santa, linking the new recording with a residency that had given the artist a regular platform on the island throughout July and August.

The release announcement describes Chulo as a track that had been part of AMÉMÉ's sets before receiving its official studio release.

More than just a residency

One Tribe has developed beyond its original party-series format.

The collective was launched in Brooklyn in 2017 and has since expanded into a broader platform connected to music, art and fashion.

AMÉMÉ has continued to use the project to bring together artists from different backgrounds, with the Ibiza residency providing its first extended home on the island.

Chulo is now available

Chulo is now officially available through Altra Moda Music, with the extended mix also released.

The September 18 release marks the latest chapter in AMÉMÉ's 2026 output and follows a summer in which One Tribe established a five-week presence at Cova Santa.

For Ibiza, the story is another example of the island's role as a meeting point for international electronic music projects, with AMÉMÉ's first dedicated residency now followed by a studio release connected to the season.
