Ibiza has played a central role in the story of Camilla Angelucci, the Italian contestant who has won MasterChef 14 after defeating Annie in the final.

The 33-year-old, who is based in Ibiza, secured the title after a final built around three dishes inspired by the places and people that have shaped her life: Ibiza, Italy and Catalonia.

Her winning menu was also a deeply personal tribute to her family, with each course connected to an important part of her story.

A MasterChef journey that ended in victory

Camilla's victory came after 13 weeks of competition on the Spanish edition of MasterChef.

In the final, she faced Annie in the last duel, with three dishes required from each finalist.

The final also featured chef Joan Roca as a guest judge alongside Jordi Cruz, Marta Sanahuja and Pepe Rodríguez.

Camilla ultimately took the title, following Gabriela Hinojosa as the winner of the previous edition.

Ibiza was the starting point

The first course of Camilla's final menu was dedicated to Ibiza.

She prepared a guisat de peix, an Ibicencan-style fish dish, accompanied by a crispy rice element and chlorophyll oil. Beneath the visible elements of the dish was a leche de tigre.

Camilla explained that Ibiza represented freedom in her life and the place where she met her husband, Aarón.

She dedicated the dish to him, describing Ibiza as the place that had taught her what it meant to be free and where she had found the love of her life.

A dish inspired by her life on the island

The Ibiza dish was more than an attempt to represent the island through its cuisine.

Camilla used it to tell part of her own story.

Her relationship with Aarón, whom she met in Ibiza, became part of the presentation, with the leche de tigre representing the character of their relationship.

The dish also received strong praise from the judges.

Joan Roca described it as a technically demanding creation that worked successfully, while the other judges highlighted its execution, balance and the progress Camilla had made during the competition.

Italy became the second chapter

Camilla's main course moved from Ibiza to her Italian roots.

She prepared gnocchi with ricotta and Parmesan, accompanied by a mushroom cream and a cheese crisp.

The dish was dedicated to her parents, who were present during the final.

Their appearance carried particular significance for Camilla because of the difficult family history she had discussed during the programme.

The dish therefore became both a culinary tribute to Italy and a personal tribute to her parents.

The final course represented Catalonia

For dessert, Camilla turned to Catalonia with her interpretation of mel i mató.

The traditional combination of fresh cheese and honey became the basis for her final dessert, presented as another reference to an important part of her life.

From Ibiza to MasterChef

Camilla's connection to Ibiza goes beyond simply being based on the island.

Before MasterChef, she worked in restaurants and also worked as ground staff at Ibiza Airport. She later described the island as a place that had played an important role in her personal life and development.

Her relationship with Ibiza became one of the recurring themes of her appearance on MasterChef.

A difficult journey to the title

Camilla has said that she had tried for seven years to get onto MasterChef before finally receiving the opportunity to compete.

In a September interview following her victory, she recalled travelling to Madrid with a nearly empty suitcase because she did not expect to stay for long.

Instead, she went on to win the entire competition.
