Cristina Pedroche is taking on a completely new challenge in Ibiza: stepping behind the DJ decks.

The Spanish television presenter will make her DJ debut on Sunday, October 11, during the closing party of StreetXO Ibiza, the restaurant created by her husband, chef Dabiz Muñoz.

What began almost as a casual suggestion has developed into a serious new hobby, with Pedroche spending recent weeks practising at home and learning from Ibiza DJ Sebastián Gamboa.

From Television to the DJ Booth

Pedroche explained that the idea began when Gamboa told her that he already had a DJ lined up to perform.

Her initial reaction was that she could not do it.

But the proposal sparked her interest and she decided to give it a try.

Since then, she has been practising regularly at home, with her own DJ equipment and monitors.

“I thought it was going to be easier,” she admitted, explaining that learning to mix properly has required considerably more work than she initially expected.

Her approach to the challenge is summed up by her own words: when she wants something, she goes for it.

Learning with Sebastián Gamboa

One of the people helping Pedroche prepare is Sebastián Gamboa, a long-established figure in Ibiza's house music scene.

Gamboa has been helping her understand the technical side of DJing and prepare for her first public session.

Pedroche says the experience has also changed the way she listens to music.

The more she practises, she explained, the more she notices the rhythm and physical impact of the music.

She has also discovered that she particularly enjoys the collective experience of a dancefloor, where people can lose themselves in the music and move together.

What Will DJ Pedroche Play?

Pedroche describes the style she is preparing as commercial house, although she also admits that her personal musical tastes can be considerably more intense.

She describes herself as “quite hardcore” when it comes to music.

For now, however, her focus is simply on preparing for her first performance rather than defining a long-term musical identity.

The October 11 session will be the first opportunity for an audience to see how her weeks of practice translate to the DJ booth.

Nervous but Excited

Pedroche admits that she expects to be nervous when the moment arrives.

She says audiences will probably be able to see the concentration on her face while she is performing.

At the same time, she is clearly enjoying the process.

She has not decided what will happen after her Ibiza debut and is not presenting the performance as the beginning of a confirmed professional DJ career.

For now, she is treating it as a new experience and challenge.

“I don't know what will happen afterwards,” she said, while making clear that she is having fun with the process.

Debut on October 11

Pedroche's first DJ appearance will take place during StreetXO Ibiza's closing party on Sunday, October 11.

The event marks the end of the restaurant's 2026 Ibiza season and will give Pedroche the opportunity to perform in front of an Ibiza audience for the first time.

After years in television and entertainment, Pedroche is now discovering another side of the Ibiza experience.

For one night, at least, the presenter will trade the television studio for the DJ booth and take on a completely different role.

And judging by the amount of preparation she has already put in, DJ Pedroche is taking her first Ibiza set seriously.
