Emergency services recovered the body of a deceased person from a difficult-to-access coastal area at the end of Carrer de Ramon Muntaner in Ibiza Town on Sunday afternoon, October 4.

The emergency call was received at around 17:00, prompting the deployment of firefighters, Policía Nacional and Policía Local de Ibiza.

Difficult Recovery Operation

The location where the body was found presented significant access difficulties.

Firefighters had to set up a specialist installation to reach the area and safely recover the body from the coast.

The operation continued for several hours as emergency crews worked to remove the deceased from the difficult terrain.

Police Investigation Underway

The Policía Nacional has taken responsibility for the investigation into the circumstances surrounding the death.

Authorities are also working to establish the identity of the deceased.

At the time of the initial report, neither the identity of the person nor the circumstances that led to the death had been officially confirmed.

The location is close to a number of coastal caves. Local reporting indicated that the deceased could potentially have been one of the people living in the caves in the area, but this possibility had not been confirmed by authorities.

No Confirmed Cause of Death

There is currently no confirmed information establishing how the person died.

For that reason, it would be premature to describe the death as accidental, natural or the result of any criminal act.

The investigation will determine the relevant circumstances and establish the identity of the deceased.
