Ibiza and Formentera Feel the First Autumn Chill as Temperatures Drop to 13°C

10 October 2026

Ibiza and Formentera experienced a clear change in the weather on Friday, 9 October, as temperatures fell following an unusually warm start to October.

Despite sunshine across the islands, the day felt noticeably cooler, prompting residents and visitors to reach for jackets as autumn began to make itself felt.

According to figures published by Spain’s State Meteorological Agency (AEMET), minimum temperatures on Ibiza fell to 13°C in Sant Antoni de Portmany. Ibiza Town and Sant Joan de Labritja recorded minimums of 14°C, while the temperature at Ibiza Airport reached 15°C. Formentera recorded a minimum of 18°C.

Sant Antoni Records the Lowest Temperature

The recorded minimums highlighted the differences across the Pityusic Islands, with Sant Antoni experiencing the lowest temperature among the locations listed.

The figures were reported on Friday, when temperatures were falling across the Balearic Islands. AEMET’s forecast for the day also indicated a general drop in temperatures, with minimums expected towards the end of the day.

Although the sun continued to shine across Ibiza and Formentera, the cooler air made conditions feel markedly different from the warm weather experienced during the first days of October.

Cooler Weather Expected Through the Weekend

The cooler conditions were forecast to continue throughout the weekend of 10 and 11 October.

According to the forecast reported on Friday, minimum temperatures were expected to remain below 15°C in parts of Ibiza, while daytime highs would move closer to 20°C. Sunday was expected to bring a broadly similar pattern.

A slight rise in daytime temperatures was forecast for the following week, with maximums potentially approaching 27°C. Minimum temperatures were expected to remain cooler, around 18°C, meaning mornings and evenings could still feel fresh.

These figures were forecasts rather than confirmed temperatures for the coming days.

Autumn Begins to Make Itself Felt in Ibiza

October often brings more noticeable differences between daytime and nighttime temperatures in Ibiza. The latest drop serves as a reminder that, even when the sun is shining, conditions can change quickly during the island’s transition from summer to autumn.

For residents and visitors planning outdoor activities, the practical advice is simple: enjoy the sunshine, but keep a light jacket close at hand, particularly during early mornings and evenings.
