Parador de Ibiza Reaches 94% Occupancy During Its First Summer

17 September 2026

The Parador de Ibiza recorded an average occupancy rate of 94% during July and August 2026, according to the latest summer figures released by Paradores de Turismo.

The result comes during the hotel's first full summer in operation and places the Dalt Vila property above the overall average recorded across Spain's public Paradores network.

First Summer in Dalt Vila

The Parador de Ibiza opened to guests on March 10, 2026, becoming the newest addition to the Paradores network.

During its first months of operation, the hotel maintained an average occupancy of more than 88%, with that figure rising to 94% across July and August, the two central months of Ibiza's summer season.

The property occupies the historic building of the former Convent of the Dominicans within Dalt Vila.

Above the National Paradores Average

Across the entire Paradores network, average occupancy during July and August was above 86%.

In August alone, the network reached 90.8% occupancy, an increase of 0.7 percentage points compared with August 2025.

The Parador de Ibiza's 94% average for the two-month period therefore places it several percentage points above the network-wide result, although it was not the highest-performing property in the chain.

Paradores Records More Than €80 Million in Summer Revenue

The strong result in Ibiza forms part of a record summer for Paradores nationally.

The public hotel company generated more than €80 million in revenue during July and August, its highest ever figure for those two months.

The network sold approximately 295,000 room stays during the period, around 11,000 more than in the same period of 2025, while its restaurants served approximately 400,000 covers, an increase of around 3,000.

International Guests Accounted for 31.2%

International visitors represented 31.2% of all guests across the Paradores network during July and August.

The United Kingdom remained the largest international source market, followed by the United States, with the American market showing particularly strong growth during the summer.

These figures refer to the entire national Paradores network and are not specific to the Parador de Ibiza.

The Eclipse Boosted Demand Across the Network

The total network figures were also affected by the August 11 and 12 solar eclipse.

Paradores reported that average occupancy across its properties reached 95.7% on those two days, while all 25 establishments located within the area of maximum visibility on mainland Spain reached 100% occupancy.

The eclipse therefore contributed to particularly strong demand at properties in the parts of Spain where the astronomical event was most visible.

Ibiza Part of a Wider Tourism Strategy

Paradores has highlighted the strong summer figures as evidence of continued demand for its properties, particularly in destinations outside Spain's major urban centres and traditional mass-tourism areas.

The company says 70% of its 99 establishments are located in municipalities with fewer than 35,000 inhabitants, reflecting its wider role in promoting tourism across different territories.

The Parador de Ibiza is a different case geographically, but its location within Dalt Vila places it directly within one of Ibiza's most important historic areas.

A Strong Start for Ibiza's New Parador

The 94% occupancy recorded during July and August provides the first major summer performance figures for the new Ibiza property.

Its average occupancy since opening has remained above 88%, according to Paradores, with demand strengthening considerably during the island's busiest summer months.

The result comes during a period when hotel occupancy across Ibiza and Formentera has remained high, although the wider Pitiusan market has shown some variation between Ibiza, Formentera and individual months. For comparison, Ibiza's overall hotel occupancy was 92.06% in August 2026, according to the latest figures from the island's hotel federation.

A New Chapter for Dalt Vila Hospitality

The Parador de Ibiza's first summer has therefore delivered a 94% average occupancy rate, while Paradores as a whole has reported record revenue for July and August.

The figures establish the historic Dalt Vila property as a significant new addition to Ibiza's luxury hotel offering and provide its first full summer performance following its opening in March.

Paradores' latest results suggest that demand for the property remained particularly strong through the peak July and August period, even as the wider island continued to experience very high levels of hotel occupancy.
