Playa Soleil Donates €24,600 to Support Marine Education and Multiple Sclerosis Care in Ibiza

21 October 2026

Playa Soleil has donated €24,600 to two Ibiza organisations working in environmental education and social care, strengthening its connection with the local community in Playa d’en Bossa. The beach club and restaurant has allocated €12,300 to the Club Náutico de Ibiza and another €12,300 to the Association for Multiple Sclerosis of Ibiza and Formentera (AEMIF).

The contributions were presented at Playa Soleil in Playa d’en Bossa, with representatives from both organisations attending. The funding will support marine education initiatives for young people and help AEMIF cover the costs of providing services to people living with multiple sclerosis.

The initiative highlights two areas of local work that depend on sustained resources: helping younger generations understand and protect Ibiza's marine environment, and maintaining specialist services for people living with a chronic neurological condition.

Club Náutico de Ibiza to Invest in Marine Education

The Club Náutico de Ibiza will use its €12,300 contribution to support environmental education and awareness projects, including Un mar de posibilidades and Joves per la Mar.

These initiatives introduce young people to the island's maritime heritage and marine ecosystems through practical experiences, navigation and educational activities along the coast.

Vicent Canals, the club's managing director, highlighted the participation of more than 500 first-year Bachillerato students in a sailing trip to Formentera. The activity gave students an opportunity to experience the sea directly and learn about the maritime environment.

Canals also described environmental activities involving students from the club's sailing school, including work along the Ibiza coastline around Playa d’en Bossa.

The donation will help the club continue its educational activities and encourage greater awareness of the importance of protecting the Mediterranean.

€12,300 to Help AEMIF Maintain Its Services

The second contribution, also worth €12,300, will go to AEMIF, the Association for Multiple Sclerosis of Ibiza and Formentera.

The organisation provides services for people affected by multiple sclerosis and must meet the ongoing costs associated with its work. These include staff salaries, premises, equipment and maintenance.

AEMIF president César Castelló explained that the association employs approximately 15 professionals and has annual expenditure exceeding €1 million.

He said the donation was comparable to the annual salary of one of the organisation's technicians, highlighting the practical importance of private contributions in helping maintain its services.

The funding is intended to contribute to operational costs rather than support a single new project. It will therefore help the association sustain the work it already provides to people who rely on its services.

Playa Soleil Highlights Its Connection with the Local Community

Andrés García Prado, a partner at Playa Soleil, said the two organisations were selected because of their strong roots in Ibiza and, particularly, in the municipality of Sant Josep de sa Talaia.

The contribution reflects the venue's effort to support organisations whose work benefits the island beyond the hospitality and leisure sector.

Playa Soleil occupies the site associated with the former Bora Bora beach venue in Playa d’en Bossa. Its current concept combines beachfront dining, beach services, music and nightlife.

The donation adds a community-support element to the business's activities, directing funding towards marine education and the provision of care services.

Supporting Two Different Needs Across Ibiza

Although the two organisations work in different fields, both provide services that contribute to the island's wider community.

The Club Náutico de Ibiza's projects aim to introduce young people to the marine environment and encourage understanding of the need to conserve it. AEMIF, meanwhile, provides support to people living with multiple sclerosis and needs ongoing funding to cover its operating costs.

By allocating equal contributions to the two organisations, Playa Soleil is supporting both environmental awareness and social care in Ibiza.

The €24,600 donation provides direct financial assistance to the organisations as they continue their work with young people, residents and people who need specialist support.
