From horror films and costume parades to trick-or-treating, children’s activities and a special bus service to the cemetery, Ibiza Town is preparing a packed programme for Halloween and All Saints’ Day from 29 October to 2 November.
Halloween weekend is approaching, and Ibiza is preparing more than a single night of costumes and scares. The programme in Ibiza Town combines the third edition of the Ibiza Halloween Festival, family celebrations in neighbourhoods across the municipality and activities connected with the traditional observances of All Saints’ Day and All Souls’ Day.
Saturday, 31 October, is Halloween, followed by All Saints’ Day on Sunday, 1 November, and All Souls’ Day on Monday, 2 November. Alongside the festival and family entertainment, the city is preparing extended cemetery opening hours and a special bus service to help people visit the Cementeri Nou.
Here are the main dates, events and practical details for the coming days.
Ibiza Halloween Festival Returns from 29 October
The Ibiza Halloween Festival will run from Thursday, 29 October, to Sunday, 1 November, with screenings, competitions, exhibitions and activities inspired by horror and fantasy.
The programme is centred on Can Ventosa, with additional activities taking place around the city centre and at the C19 Youth Creation Centre.
The opening programme at Can Ventosa on Thursday, 29 October, is scheduled to feature Balearic short films followed by an international selection. Friday, 30 October, includes further short-film screenings and a screening of the 1976 horror classic Carrie, marking 50 years since its release.
Saturday, 31 October, brings more festival activities alongside the main outdoor Halloween celebrations. The closing programme is scheduled for Sunday, 1 November, with the Terror Express short-film competition, awards and further screenings.
The RICTUS horror and fantasy art exhibition is scheduled to run at C19 from Tuesday, 27 October, until Monday, 2 November.
Some film-marathon sessions at Multicines Eivissa require paid admission, so visitors should check the individual screening information before making plans.
Monster Walk and Costume Celebrations on Halloween Night
Saturday, 31 October, will bring the main street celebrations to the centre of Ibiza Town, with activities around Vara de Rey and s’Alamera.
The published programme includes horror-themed make-up, a Halloween parade, a Monster Walk, a costume competition and a horror concert. These activities offer an opportunity for residents and visitors to join the celebrations rather than simply watch from the sidelines.
Costumes are encouraged, with the event programme putting the spotlight on creative and frightening outfits. Anyone planning to participate should check the organisers’ latest announcements for the final timings of the parade, walk and concert.
The wider festival also includes artistic competitions and horror-themed activities, adding a creative element to the Halloween weekend beyond the usual parties.
Horror Attraction and a Free Party for Teenagers
The C19 Youth Creation Centre has several activities planned for the Halloween period.
Its Museum Horror attraction, aimed at secondary-school students, is scheduled to open on Friday, 30 October, from 18:00 to 22:00 and on Saturday, 31 October, from 18:00 until midnight.
On Friday, 30 October, Sa Peixateria will host a free Halloween party for young people aged 14 to 17. The event is scheduled from 19:00 to midnight, with music, themed decorations, activities, face painting, food trucks and a non-alcoholic drinks bar.
Earlier activities at C19 include a cooking workshop focused on carrot cake on Monday, 26 October, from 18:00 to 20:00. A separate Halloween-themed reading and writing workshop for children aged eight to 11 is also scheduled for 17:30 that day at Biblioteca Vicent Serra i Orvay in Sant Jordi de ses Salines. The library workshop has ten places and requires advance registration.
Family Halloween Events across Ibiza Town
Halloween activities will also take place in neighbourhoods, schools, parks and community spaces, giving families alternatives to the main festival.
The programme lists a celebration at CEIP Cas Serres on Wednesday, 28 October, from 17:00.
On Saturday, 31 October, activities include a party at CEIP Can Misses from 17:00, celebrations organised by the neighbourhood association in Platja d’en Bossa from 11:00 to 14:00 and again from 18:00 to 22:00, and a family event in Marià Villangómez Park from 18:00 until midnight.
On Sunday, 1 November, Sa Peixateria is scheduled to host a children’s party from 11:00 to 14:00, featuring workshops, performances and entertainment. CEIP Can Cantó is also listed to hold a Halloween celebration from 18:00.
Families should check the relevant organisers’ updates before attending, as individual activities may be subject to changes.
Trick-or-Treating with 500 Kilograms of Sweets
Trick-or-treating will form part of the celebrations on Friday afternoon, 30 October, and throughout Saturday, 31 October.
According to the published programme, Ibiza Town Council has distributed 500 kilograms of gluten-free sweets to participating businesses for children taking part in the activity.
Additional daytime events include family games and sports activities around es Pratet and Mercat Nou, alongside Halloween crafts and entertainment at several public spaces.
The combination of participating shops, neighbourhood events and family activities means Halloween will extend across different parts of Ibiza Town rather than being concentrated in one location.
Cementeri Vell: Music and Theatrical Tours
Halloween weekend also provides an opportunity to explore Ibiza’s history through the Cementeri Vell in ses Figueretes, a nineteenth-century cemetery with neoclassical chapels, family pantheons and crypts.
The published programme lists string-music performances at the historic cemetery on Saturday, 31 October, and Sunday, 1 November, from 11:00 to 13:00.
A theatrical tour is also scheduled for Sunday, 1 November. Actor Vicent Torres, known as Palermet, will portray a former cemetery worker who guides visitors through the site, introducing the stories of people buried there and aspects of Ibiza’s historic funerary customs.
The two sessions are listed for 18:30 and 20:00. The tour is in Catalan and lasts approximately 90 minutes.
Important booking information: The municipal booking portal currently marks registration as closed. Anyone hoping to attend should contact the cemetery department to ask whether places or cancellations are available before travelling.
