Fire affected the laundry area and another room
According to information provided by Ibiza's fire service, the flames affected the apartment's laundry area and part of another room.
There is a discrepancy between the two local reports concerning the second area affected. Periódico de Ibiza identifies part of the living room, while Noudiari reports damage to part of the kitchen. Both accounts confirm that the laundry area was affected.
The large quantity of smoke inside the property made the firefighting operation more difficult.
The origin of the fire remains unknown, and no confirmed cause has been published.
Emergency services attended the scene
Five members of the island's fire service attended with a fire engine. Officers from Ibiza Local Police and an ambulance from SAMU 061 also responded.
According to Periódico de Ibiza, a man was treated at the scene for nervousness and smoke inhalation. Noudiari also reported that one person received medical attention for smoke inhalation.
The available reports do not confirm that the person was taken to hospital.
Once the flames had been extinguished, firefighters ventilated the apartment to clear the smoke from inside the property.
The incident was brought under control, with no further details about the cause or the full extent of the damage released in the reports reviewed.
