Ones de Llum Ibiza 2026 and 2027: Five Churches, Live Music and Immersive Video Mapping in Sant Antoni

October 27, 2026

Five churches in the municipality of Sant Antoni de Portmany will become intimate concert venues this autumn and winter as Ones de Llum returns for its third edition. Running from 30 October 2026 to 20 February 2027, the series combines live music with video mapping created specifically for each church, bringing together musical performance, visual art and Ibiza’s architectural heritage.

The programme moves between classical and chamber music, ambient jazz, tango and contemporary sounds. Each concert is designed to offer a distinct experience, with the visual projections responding to the architecture and atmosphere of the venue.

30 October 2026: Faith Converters at Sant Mateu

The opening concert takes place on Friday 30 October at 20:00 in the church of Sant Mateu.

Titled Faith Converters, the performance brings together four musicians: Carlos Vesperinas on cello, Llorenç Prats on piano, Joan Carles Marí on percussion, and Raquel Ortiz, who combines vocals and dance.

The musical programme moves between different styles and performance traditions, drawing on composers and contemporary artists including Camille Saint-Saëns and Hania Rani. The concert will be accompanied by video mapping designed for the church.

21 November 2026: Ambient Jazz at Sant Rafel

The second concert is scheduled for Saturday 21 November at 20:00 in the church of Sant Rafel.

The performance features Pere Navarro on trumpet, Carlos Vesperinas on cello and synthesizers, and Samuel Pérez on piano. Their trio will explore ambient jazz through original compositions and improvisation, with the trumpet taking a leading role.

The combination of acoustic instruments, electronic textures and live improvisation will provide a contrast to the opening concert’s broader musical and theatrical approach.

19 December 2026: Piano and Cello at Can Bonet

On Saturday 19 December, the series moves to the church of Can Bonet for a concert beginning at 21:00.

Pianist Xico Ribas and cellist Carlos Vesperinas will perform a programme bringing together classical music, familiar melodies and works by Frédéric Chopin, with some seasonal musical elements reflecting the time of year.

The evening centres on the dialogue between piano and cello, offering a more intimate chamber-music performance within the church setting.

The organisers have not yet revealed the performing group. Eivissa Escènica has described the event as a different kind of concert from the series’ usual offerings, with the artist or group due to be announced approximately two weeks before the performance.

The closing concert features a trio comprising Ramsés Puente on violin, Carlos Vesperinas on cello and Miquel Tur on guitar.

How to Reserve Places for Ones de Llum

The organisers are dividing places between online reservations and in-person access.

  • 50% of places can be reserved online through a form published on the communication channels of Sant Antoni Town Council during the week of each concert.

  • The remaining 50% will be available at the church from one hour before the performance begins.

For the opening concert at Sant Mateu on 30 October, online registration is scheduled to run from Tuesday 27 October at 09:00 until Thursday 29 October at 12:00.

As capacity is divided between the two booking methods, anyone hoping to attend should check the council’s official channels for the relevant form and any updated information before travelling.

Music, Light and Ibiza’s Architectural Heritage

The video-mapping component is once again being created by Jesús de las Heras of El Imaginario. The projections are designed individually for each church, taking account of its architectural features and atmosphere rather than using the same visual production at every venue.

Ones de Llum is promoted by the Culture Department of Sant Antoni Town Council, produced by Eivissa Escènica and supported by El Imaginario.

The series brings contemporary visual art into historic religious spaces while providing a platform for musicians from Ibiza and Formentera. By combining live performance with projections tailored to each building, it offers an alternative way to experience the island’s cultural heritage during the quieter autumn and winter months.
