Adrián Bedoya secured bronze in the Masters category at the Spanish Finn Class Championship, helping Club Náutico Ibiza deliver a strong result at the national sailing competition held in Murcia from 14 to 17 October.
Bedoya finished 10th overall among a fleet of 44 sailors, scoring 52 net points after six races and one discard. His teammate Alejandro Cardona also placed inside the top 15, finishing 13th overall with 56 net points.
The event, organised by the Sailing Federation of the Region of Murcia, attracted an international fleet and provided a competitive test for the Ibiza representatives.
Bedoya Claims Masters Bronze and Finishes in the Overall Top 10
Bedoya's 10th-place overall finish secured him third in the Masters category. He remained among the leading sailors throughout the championship and recorded two sixth-place finishes, in the fourth and sixth races.
The result earned him the distinction of being the fourth-best competitor flying the Spanish flag in the overall classification.
Bedoya competes with the support of BMA Arquitectura and was the highest-placed of the two sailors representing Club Náutico Ibiza.
Cardona Finishes Just Four Points Behind His Teammate
Alejandro Cardona completed the championship in 13th place overall, with 56 net points, only four points behind Bedoya.
His performance was marked by consistency. Cardona finished between 10th and 14th in every race and recorded three 10th-place results, including two in the final races of the championship.
Supported by Buscastell Vins, he was the fifth-best sailor flying the Spanish flag in the overall standings.
Together, the results placed both Club Náutico Ibiza competitors among the top 13 overall, with Bedoya also securing a Masters-category medal.
International Fleet Competes on the Mar Menor
The Spanish Finn Championship took place in the Mar Menor area of Murcia, with 44 competitors from several countries taking part.
France's Valerian Lebrun won the overall classification with 11 points. Miguel Fernández Vasco of Real Club Náutico de La Coruña finished second with 16 points, while Dutch sailor Bas de Waal completed the overall podium with 18.
Fernández Vasco was the highest-placed Spanish sailor and therefore claimed the Spanish national title. Bedoya and Cardona finished fourth and fifth respectively among competitors sailing under the Spanish flag.
The championship concluded after six races, with one result discarded in the final scoring.
A Positive National Result for Club Náutico Ibiza
The two sailors' performances gave Club Náutico Ibiza a strong finish to the Spanish Finn Championship, with both athletes placing inside the overall top 13 and Bedoya adding a Masters bronze medal.
For Bedoya, the result combines a category podium with a top-10 overall finish. Cardona's consistent scoring also kept him close to his teammate in a competitive international fleet.
Their results underline the club's presence in the Finn class at national level and provide a positive conclusion to the October championship in Murcia.
