Amnesia Ibiza Closes Its 50th Anniversary Season with a 19-Hour Festival Celebrating Five Decades of Clubbing History

October 29, 2026

Amnesia Ibiza brought its 50th-anniversary season to a close on Saturday, 10 October 2026, with a 19-hour Closing Festival that celebrated five decades of music and club culture on the island. The event began with an open-air programme in the club's car park before continuing across three indoor spaces and running until midday on Sunday, 11 October.

The celebration brought together international DJs, long-standing residents and artists associated with different eras of electronic music. It also introduced a new outdoor festival area and the club's intimate El Taller room, connecting Amnesia's history with its current musical programme.

An Open-Air Anniversary Area Returns to the Club's Roots

The festival began at 17:00 with the Anniversary Area, an open-air dancefloor created in Amnesia's car park. According to the club, this was the first time it had transformed the space into an outdoor festival area, drawing on the early Ibiza clubbing atmosphere of dancing beneath the open sky.

Luca Donzelli opened the programme, followed by Kolter b2b Traumer. Joseph Capriati then performed a sunset set that included a surprise appearance by Locomía, before Alisha b2b Julian Fijma continued the music.

Groove Armada and Max Dean closed the outdoor programme with selections and remixes including tracks associated with the history of dance music.

The Anniversary Area was designed to evoke the relationship between music, the island and the people who have shaped Amnesia over five decades.

Three Dancefloors, Three Different Musical Directions

At 23:00, the celebration moved inside the club, where the Main Room, Terrace and El Taller offered different musical experiences.

The Main Room focused on techno and harder electronic sounds. Katnada opened the programme, followed by Estella Boersma. Serafina b2b Yanamaste, Nina Kraviz, Deborah De Luca, Future.666 and Klangkuenstler continued the night, taking the music through a range of contemporary techno styles.

El Taller, a new and more intimate room introduced for the Closing Festival, focused on sounds connected to different periods of Amnesia's musical history. Franco Moiraghi, Jason Bye and long-standing resident Les Schmitz performed in the space, linking earlier club sounds with the present.

On the Terrace, house music remained at the centre of the programme. Jamie Fielding, Luke Dean b2b Locky, Marco Faraone b2b Obskür and Max Dean b2b Sidney Charles were among the artists who played before musical director Mar-T delivered a special set reflecting on the club's history.

As daylight approached, Saoirse b2b Enzo Siragusa continued the Terrace programme, drawing on the house music traditions that have helped define Amnesia's identity.

Joseph Capriati and Josh Baker Close the Season at Sunrise

The festival's final chapter began at 09:00 on Sunday morning, when Joseph Capriati and Josh Baker took over the Terrace.

According to Amnesia's official recap, the pair played for three hours and eight minutes, bringing the 2026 season to a close in front of a crowd that remained on the dancefloor into the late morning.

Their set included tracks such as I Want Your Soul and Benediction, alongside Martin Buttrich's I'm Going There One Day. The final track was Eurythmics' Sweet Dreams (Are Made of This).

The club also reported a surprise appearance by Pepe Roselló, the founder of Space Ibiza, who joined the celebration in the Terrace DJ booth. His presence connected the anniversary event with another important chapter in the island's clubbing history.

Fifty Years of Amnesia Ibiza

Amnesia opened in 1976 and has remained an influential part of Ibiza's electronic music scene through changes in musical trends, club culture and the island's nightlife industry.

The 2026 anniversary season recognised that history through special events, resident performances and programming designed to connect different generations of clubbers.

The Closing Festival brought these themes together through its outdoor area, multiple dancefloors and a lineup spanning techno, house and classic dance music influences.

Rather than simply marking the end of another summer, the event celebrated the artists, residents and audiences who have contributed to the club's identity over five decades.

With the final track playing on Sunday morning, Amnesia concluded its 50th-anniversary season with a programme that looked back at its history while showcasing the music and artists shaping its present.
