Argentine artist Mariana Eiras is presenting Confluencias, an exhibition of abstract painting at Can Jordi Blues Station, offering visitors an opportunity to explore the meeting of colours, textures and contrasting emotions through contemporary art.
The exhibition opened on Wednesday, 21 October 2026, and will remain on display until 7 December at the popular bar and cultural space on the road between Ibiza Town and Sant Josep. Admission is free.
Where Opposites Meet Through Abstract Painting
The works in Confluencias emerge from intuition and emotion, with Eiras allowing colour, materials and transformation to guide her creative process.
The series explores the encounter between elements that may initially appear to be opposites: strength and calm, light and shadow, impulse and reflection. Through shapes, lines, colours and textures that intersect and overlap, the paintings create new visual relationships.
Although each work follows its own direction, the collection is connected by a shared artistic language. The idea of confluence becomes a way of examining how different elements can meet and transform one another without losing their individual character.
For Eiras, the concept also reflects human experience. Encounters and interactions can change how people see the world and themselves, while allowing them to retain their identity.
An Invitation to Find Your Own Interpretation
Rather than attempting to depict a specific reality or provide definitive answers, Eiras invites viewers to engage with the paintings on a personal level.
Each work offers space for individual interpretation, allowing visitors to respond to the colours, forms and textures through their own experiences and emotions.
The artist hopes the paintings will encourage people to pause, feel and reflect, perhaps awakening a memory or creating an emotional connection that differs from one viewer to another.
This open approach is central to the exhibition's concept: meaning emerges through the encounter between the artwork and the person looking at it.
Art at Can Jordi Blues Station
Can Jordi Blues Station is a longstanding bar and cultural meeting place on the road to Sant Josep, known for hosting exhibitions alongside its everyday activity as a venue for food, drinks and music.
Its exhibition space regularly presents work by artists connected with Ibiza, giving visitors the chance to discover painting and other creative practices in an informal setting.
Confluencias continues that cultural programme, bringing Eiras's abstract work to an audience that includes local residents, regular visitors and people exploring the island's artistic scene.
