New York-based house DJ and producer Anastazja has been named DJ Mag's Top 100 DJs 2026 Future Star, recognising her as one of the emerging artists to watch in the global electronic music scene.
The award was announced ahead of the full Top 100 DJs 2026 results, which were revealed at DJ Mag LIVE at [UNVRS] Ibiza on October 6.
Anastazja also performed at the Ibiza ceremony alongside David Guetta, Lost Frequencies, Charlotte de Witte, GORDO B2B Vintage Culture and Korolova.
From Chicago to New York
Born in Chicago and now based in New York, Anastazja grew up listening to R&B and gospel before developing a deeper interest in electronic music.
Her early travels to Kenya, Ecuador and Poland exposed her to different musical cultures and helped shape her approach to music and travel.
After college, she immersed herself in the musical history of Chicago and Detroit, exploring the house and techno traditions associated with both cities.
Her influences now include artists such as Ron Trent, Floorplan, Erykah Badu and Quincy Jones.
Probably Somewhere Dancing
A central part of Anastazja's creative identity is Probably Somewhere Dancing, a project that combines music, travel, people and culture.
The project documents her experiences in different parts of the world, from Joshua Tree in California to cities including São Paulo and Mexico City.
Rather than focusing exclusively on club culture, the project reflects her wider interest in exploring how music connects with different communities and places.
A year of milestones
2026 has already brought several important moments in Anastazja's career.
The Rinse FM resident has performed at major venues and events including EDC Las Vegas, Basement NY, BADABOUM in Paris and Chicago's smartbar.
Those appearances have helped expand her profile beyond New York and the US, while giving her opportunities to introduce her house-driven sound to new audiences.
Her Future Star award now adds another significant milestone to the year.
“Surreal” recognition
Reacting to the award, Anastazja described the recognition as an incredibly surreal feeling.
She said that she had invested considerable effort into her development as a DJ and creative artist, while going through different periods of experimentation and change in her sound.
The award, she said, represents recognition for her creative risk-taking and her contribution to the dance music community.
More music on the way
Anastazja is already looking towards the next stage of her career.
She has been working in the studio on new music and remixes, with further releases expected.
She is also preparing to launch her own fashion brand, adding another dimension to her work as a multidisciplinary creative.
The combination of music, fashion, travel and visual storytelling is becoming an increasingly important part of her artistic identity.
Future Star at Top 100 DJs LIVE
Anastazja's Future Star recognition was part of a wider Top 100 DJs 2026 programme at [UNVRS] Ibiza.
The ceremony saw David Guetta crowned the World's No.1 DJ for a record sixth time, while Charlotte de Witte retained the World's No.1 Techno DJ title and FISHER was named the World's No.1 House DJ for a second consecutive year.
The main Top 100 also produced a new generation of rising names, with Josh Baker entering at No. 40 as the Highest New Entry.
Anastazja's Future Star award sits alongside those results as a separate recognition of emerging talent.
A new name to watch
For Anastazja, the award arrives at a point when her career is expanding internationally while she continues developing her own creative projects.
Her connection to Chicago and Detroit's musical heritage, her experiences travelling around the world and her current base in New York all feed into an increasingly distinctive identity.
With new music, remixes and a fashion project in development, the DJ Mag Top 100 DJs 2026 Future Star award marks another step in Anastazja's rapid rise.
