Residents of Can Bonet in Sant Antoni have raised concerns about the condition of Calle Limoneros after photographs taken on Friday showed overflowing rubbish containers, waste scattered across the pavement and several abandoned household items.

A local resident contacted La Voz de Ibiza with images showing the situation along the stretch between Can Bonet school and Granja Costa.

Rubbish Spilling Onto the Pavement

The photographs show several containers filled to capacity, with their lids open and dozens of rubbish bags accumulated around them.

The waste includes plastic bottles, drinks cans, food remains, bread and packaging, with rubbish also visible around recycling containers.

According to the resident, the problem was not limited to a single bin but affected several of the containers along the street.

A Mattress and Furniture Left Outside

Among the discarded items photographed was a mattress together with a bed base and a chair.

These are bulky household items that do not form part of ordinary domestic waste collection and require a specific collection service.

Their presence further reduced the space available on the pavement, creating additional difficulties for pedestrians.

A Narrow Pavement

The situation is particularly noticeable because the pavement along this section of Calle Limoneros is already relatively narrow.

According to the report, the pedestrian area is around one metre wide and is separated from the road by bollards.

With rubbish bags and abandoned furniture occupying part of that space, the usable area for pedestrians is reduced even further.

The location is also close to Can Bonet school, meaning the area is regularly used by families and schoolchildren.

A Local Complaint

The photographs were supplied by a resident who wanted to draw attention to the condition of the street on Friday, September 11.

The report documents the situation on that specific day and reflects the resident's complaint about the accumulation of waste around the containers.

It does not, by itself, establish how long the rubbish had remained at the location or identify the specific cause of the overflow.

Waste Collection Under Scrutiny

The images come at a time when waste collection and street-cleaning services in Sant Antoni and across Ibiza continue to attract public attention.

For residents, the immediate concern is more practical: keeping pavements accessible, preventing waste from accumulating around containers and ensuring bulky items are collected through the appropriate service.
