Jet2 is set to increase its air capacity to Ibiza for summer 2027, with the strongest change expected at the beginning of the season.

The airline plans around 370,000 arrival seats to Ibiza during summer 2027, approximately 5,000 more than the roughly 365,000 offered in 2026. The overall increase is modest, at around 1.4%, but the biggest adjustment will come in April, when Jet2 plans to offer 11% more flights than during the same month in 2026.

At the height of the summer season, the airline expects to maintain its existing peak of 78 flights per week to Ibiza.

More capacity without a new Ibiza route

Jet2 is not adding a new UK airport connection to Ibiza for 2027.

Instead, the additional capacity will be placed on routes that are already operating, with the airline already serving Ibiza from its network of UK bases.

The strategy means the increase will come primarily through adjustments to the frequency and capacity of existing services rather than the launch of a new Ibiza destination.

April gets the biggest boost

The clearest change is scheduled for April 2027.

Jet2 has indicated that its Ibiza programme will be 11% larger in April compared with April 2026, extending the amount of capacity available at the start of the summer season.

Jet2's current booking system already shows Ibiza services available throughout April 2027, including flights on multiple dates during the month.

The move points to a continued expansion of the shoulder season, giving travellers more opportunities to visit Ibiza before the busiest summer period.

Peak summer remains at 78 flights per week

Despite the increase in total capacity, Jet2 does not expect its weekly peak to rise above the level reached in 2026.

The maximum will remain at 78 flights per week during the busiest period of summer 2027.

That means the additional seats are not simply being added to the already busiest weeks. Instead, the programme is being adjusted across the season, with greater emphasis on periods outside the main summer peak.

Around 370,000 arrival seats planned

Jet2's Ibiza programme for 2027 is expected to provide approximately 370,000 arrival seats.

That compares with around 365,000 arrival seats during summer 2026, representing an increase of roughly 5,000 seats.

In percentage terms, that is around 1.4%.

The figure refers specifically to seats arriving in Ibiza, rather than total two-way passenger capacity.

Ibiza already has a broad Jet2 network

The airline has built a substantial network between Ibiza and the United Kingdom.

Jet2's current Ibiza booking system shows services from airports including Belfast International, Birmingham, Bournemouth, Bristol, Edinburgh, East Midlands, Glasgow, Leeds Bradford, Liverpool, London Gatwick, London Luton, London Stansted, Manchester and Newcastle.

That gives Ibiza access to all 14 of Jet2's current UK airport bases.

The 14th base is London Gatwick, which began operating for Jet2 in March 2026.

London Gatwick strengthens the network

Gatwick is particularly relevant to the airline's 2027 expansion.

When Jet2 announced its Summer 2027 programme from Gatwick in February, Ibiza was among the destinations receiving increased capacity. The programme lists a peak of four weekly Ibiza flights from Gatwick.

Current Jet2 schedules also show Ibiza flights from Gatwick across the 2027 summer period, confirming that the route remains part of the airline's programme.

Jet2 is responding to demand outside the peak

The airline has been expanding its wider Summer 2027 programme in response to demand for travel earlier and later in the season.

On September 9, Jet2 announced additional seats and season extensions across 22 routes from nine UK bases. Those changes focused heavily on extending spring and autumn operations, although Ibiza was not one of the 22 individual route changes listed in that announcement.

The Ibiza increase therefore forms part of the airline's broader capacity planning rather than being one of the newly announced 22 route extensions.

Ibiza remains a core Balearic destination

Ibiza is already one of Jet2's established destinations within the Balearic Islands alongside Majorca and Menorca.

For 2027, Jet2 has continued to put Ibiza on sale across its UK network while maintaining substantial summer capacity.

The airline's current Summer 2027 booking pages show Ibiza flights available from April onwards and continuing through the main summer period and into autumn.

A longer season for Ibiza

The significance of the increase is less about a dramatic jump in total capacity and more about where the extra capacity is being placed.

With April receiving an 11% increase while the peak remains capped at 78 weekly flights, Jet2's programme suggests a greater distribution of capacity across the season.

For Ibiza, that means more scheduled airline capacity at a time when the island is moving into its spring tourism period, before the busiest months of July and August.
