Santa Eulalia Marks Dyslexia Awareness Day with Free Afternoon of Workshops, Music and Dance

07 de October de 2026

Santa Eulalia is marking Dyslexia Awareness Day on Thursday, October 8, with a free afternoon of workshops, music, dance and activities designed to raise awareness and support people living with dyslexia.

Organised by DISFAM Ibiza and Formentera, the event takes place at Paseo de s’Alamera from 17:30 to 20:30 and is open to the public.

The organisers are inviting attendees to wear turquoise, the colour associated with dyslexia awareness.

An afternoon of activities for all ages

The programme combines educational activities with music and entertainment.

DJ Poll, a facilitator with EDance, will provide the music, while the Municipal Library will also have a stand at the event.

At 18:00, an interactive workshop titled “Other Ways” will take place for approximately 45 minutes. The workshop is led by Jimena Brusacá from ImproIbiza.

The afternoon is designed to be accessible to the wider public, with activities intended to encourage understanding and visibility around dyslexia.

Santa Eulalia turns turquoise

The event will conclude with a group photograph in front of Santa Eulalia Town Hall.

The building will be illuminated in turquoise as a symbolic gesture of support and awareness for dyslexia.

The colour forms part of the international awareness campaign associated with the condition, while the organisers are encouraging members of the public to join the event wearing turquoise.

What is Dyslexia Awareness Day?

October 8 is recognised internationally as Dyslexia Awareness Day.

According to the event information, dyslexia is a specific learning disorder of neurobiological origin that primarily affects reading and writing.

DISFAM, the Dyslexia and Family Association, promotes the annual “United for Dyslexia” campaign to increase awareness and understanding of the condition.

DISFAM has an established presence in Ibiza and Formentera, with the organisation providing local support and information for families and others affected by dyslexia.

Continuing an annual awareness initiative

This is not the first time Santa Eulalia has marked Dyslexia Awareness Day at s’Alamera.

The local DISFAM delegation also held an event at the same location in 2025, when the programme included creative workshops, games, storytelling and participation from the Municipal Library and El Barco de Papel bookshop.

The Town Hall was also illuminated in turquoise that evening.

The 2026 programme continues the awareness initiative with a mixture of educational, creative and musical activities.
