Ibiza firefighters dealt with several separate fire incidents on Tuesday, including a truck fire in Sant Antoni and two small forest-fire outbreaks in Santa Eulària.
The day began in the early hours with a fire involving a truck parked outside an industrial warehouse in Sant Antoni. The flames also affected pallets, containers and part of the warehouse itself.
Truck Fire in Sant Antoni
Firefighters attended the incident with a fire engine and several members of the emergency service.
The truck was located outside an industrial warehouse when the fire broke out, with flames spreading to nearby materials and affecting part of the building.
After extinguishing the fire, firefighters ventilated the warehouse to remove the smoke that had accumulated inside.
No injuries were reported, although the incident caused material damage.
Two Forest-Fire Outbreaks in Santa Eulària
Later the same day, firefighters were called to the Camí de sa Font des Murtar in Santa Eulària after a small forest fire broke out.
When firefighters arrived, several local residents had already acted to contain the first flames and prevent them from spreading further.
However, just minutes later, a second small fire outbreak was reported in the same area.
Firefighters responded to both incidents and worked to prevent the flames from developing into larger fires.
A Busy Day for Emergency Services
The three incidents required firefighters to respond to different types of situations across the island within the same day.
The Sant Antoni incident involved a vehicle and an industrial building, while the two Santa Eulària incidents involved vegetation and forested areas.
The quick response of both firefighters and local residents helped keep the forest-fire outbreaks contained.
With Ibiza's dry summer conditions increasing the potential for vegetation fires, authorities continue to urge residents and visitors to take care when using or carrying anything that could cause a fire.
For now, the three incidents have been brought under control, with no injuries reported in the Sant Antoni truck fire and the two forest-fire outbreaks contained.
