Kyoto Table
Kyoto Table by Poltrona Frau is a Gianfranco Frattini design from the early 1970s, inspired by the designer's journey to Japan with master cabinetmaker Pierluigi Ghianda. Conceived after studying Kyoto's artisan workshops, the table transforms construction itself into the essence of the object, with a refined gridded structure that reflects balance, discipline, and exceptional woodworking skill. Reissued by Poltrona Frau with great respect for the original project, Kyoto is crafted in solid beech wood with a black open-pore varnish borrowed from Frattini's first version. The vibrant red lacquered leg tops pay homage to Japanese culture while preserving the graphic effect of the legs inserted into the grid. Sculptural and precise, it brings quiet architectural presence to living rooms, studies, and refined hospitality interiors.
