Ibiza sailing has celebrated a major international success after Club Náutico Ibiza sailors Roque García Agudo and Vicent Jaume Serra García were crowned European Youth champions in the Tornado class in Italy.

The Ibiza pair, competing aboard ESP 12, finished 10th overall at the 2026 Tornado European Championship held at Campione del Garda, while taking the top position in the Youth classification.

Their performance placed them among the leading crews in a highly competitive international fleet and delivered an important continental title for Club Náutico Ibiza.

A European title for the Ibiza crew

García and Serra completed all 11 races of the championship and finished with 87 net points.

That was enough to make them the leading Youth crew and secure the European title in their age category.

Their 10th-place finish in the overall classification was also a significant achievement, particularly considering that the championship featured experienced international sailors and crews with major results behind them.

The International Tornado Class Association confirmed that the Ibiza team finished in the top 10 overall and was the leading Youth crew.

Strong results throughout the championship

The Ibiza sailors were already showing their potential before the final races.

After three days of competition and nine completed races, ESP 12 was sitting eighth overall with 61 net points while leading the Youth classification.

García and Serra managed to maintain their position among the leading boats and ultimately finished the competition with the Youth European title.

Greece takes the overall European crown

While the Ibiza crew won the Youth championship, the overall European title went to Greece.

Nikolaos Mavros and Polydoros Parianos finished first overall with 30 net points.

Their compatriots Konstantinos Trigonis and Konstantinos Kazantzis took second place with 31 points, while Swiss sailors Marcel Steiner and Jörg Steiner completed the overall podium with 38 points.

The close points battle at the top reflected the competitiveness of the championship, with the overall title changing hands during the final day.

The International Tornado Class Association described García and Serra's 10th-place overall result as a strong performance in a 22-boat European Championship fleet.
