Thursday, October 15 in Ibiza and Formentera: Formentera Gastronomic Weeks, Cala Llonga Market, Es Caná Tourist Train, Santa Eulària Tourist Train, Beach Hop Cruise to Cala Bassa and Cala Conta, Captain Nemo Natural Park and Aquarium Boat Trip
Thursday, October 15, combines local gastronomy, evening market shopping, scenic countryside excursions and boat trips along Ibiza’s coastline. Formentera’s Gastronomic Weeks invite visitors to discover seasonal island cuisine, while Cala Llonga hosts its weekly evening market beside the beach. On Ibiza’s east coast, two tourist-train excursions offer different ways to explore traditional villages and beaches. Meanwhile, three boat experiences depart from San Antonio, ranging from a beach-hopping cruise to Cala Bassa and Cala Conta to Captain Nemo’s natural aquarium trip and a longer excursion along the northwestern coast.
1. Formentera Gastronomic Weeks: Discover the Island Through Local Cuisine
Formentera Gastronomic Weeks begin their first full week of activity on Thursday, offering visitors an opportunity to discover the island through its local ingredients, traditional recipes and contemporary restaurant scene.
Running from October 12 to 25, the event brings together 26 participating restaurants, each offering a special menu for €28 per person, with drinks charged separately. Organised by PIMEF in collaboration with the Consell de Formentera, the programme highlights the island’s culinary traditions and encourages visitors to explore its restaurants during the quieter autumn season.
The participating venues each have their own menu and service schedule. Depending on the restaurant, the special menu may be available for lunch, dinner or both, so it is important to check the individual restaurant’s arrangements before visiting.
The initiative also includes a culinary voting campaign. Diners can scan a QR code at participating restaurants to rate their menu and upload a photograph of their receipt. Anyone who votes at two or more different restaurants is entered into a prize draw to win €500.
The event provides a good reason to explore Formentera beyond its beaches, with local produce, seasonal dishes and independent restaurants at the centre of the experience.

Cala Llonga’s weekly evening market brings a relaxed shopping atmosphere to the resort’s seafront promenade every Thursday during the spring and summer-to-autumn season.
The market features a selection of stalls selling fashion, accessories, handmade jewellery and other distinctive souvenirs. Its smaller scale makes it a pleasant alternative to Ibiza’s larger markets, with time to browse without the crowds associated with the island’s busiest daytime markets.
The location is one of its main attractions. Stalls line the promenade beside Cala Llonga beach, with bars and restaurants nearby for anyone who wants to continue the evening over drinks or dinner. A playground on the sandy beach also makes the market a convenient stop for families.

The Es Caná Tourist Train offers a leisurely way to explore Ibiza’s northeastern countryside, connecting traditional villages with some of the island’s most attractive beaches.
Departing beside the taxi and bus square in Es Caná, the approximately three-hour excursion follows rural roads through Mediterranean vegetation and the island’s interior. The route includes the traditional village of Sant Carles de Peralta, where passengers can admire its 18th-century church.
The train then continues towards Es Figueral, with views of the offshore islet of Tagomago, before travelling to Pou des Lleó, a former fishing port, and Cala Boix. The route also passes the coastal coves of Cala Mastella, Cala Llenya and Cala Nova.
Stops along the way allow passengers to rest, enjoy refreshments and spend time at one of the beaches. The excursion is designed as a relaxed sightseeing experience rather than a fast-paced tour, making it suitable for families and visitors who prefer to discover the island without driving themselves.
The operator lists departures at 10:30 on Tuesdays, Thursdays, Saturdays and Sundays during the published season. The journey requires a minimum of 10 passengers, with a maximum capacity of 52, so departure may depend on passenger numbers.

The route covers approximately 15 kilometres and follows rural roads through the island’s interior towards traditional villages and coastal attractions. It includes a stop at Sant Carles, where passengers can see the historic church, followed by a visit to a traditional farmhouse that offers a glimpse into the daily life of earlier generations of Ibizans.
The excursion continues towards Puig de Missa in Santa Eulària, the hilltop complex centred on its historic 16th-century church. A further stop at Niu Blau beach provides time to enjoy the coast, relax in the surroundings or take a short break before returning to Santa Eulària.
The train departs from Bar Can Cosmi, opposite the town hall. On Thursdays during September and October, an additional afternoon departure is scheduled at 15:30, alongside the regular morning service.

Ibiza’s western coastline is home to some of the island’s most celebrated beaches, and the Float Your Boat Beach Hop Cruise offers a convenient way to explore Cala Bassa and Cala Conta in one excursion.
The six-hour trip combines coastal sightseeing with time to enjoy the beaches and a separate swimming stop in a sheltered bay. Passengers can spend approximately one hour at Cala Bassa and another hour at Cala Conta, with opportunities to swim, relax on the sand or explore the surrounding beach areas.
A further swimming stop provides time for snorkelling and paddleboarding. The boat features a glass-bottom viewing area, slides and a trampoline, adding more ways to enjoy the water during the journey.
A buffet-style lunch and selected drinks are included. Food can include pasta salad, tortilla, sandwiches, fruit and other buffet items, while drinks include water, soft drinks, sangria, beer and cava. The operator limits the number of alcoholic drinks included in the package.
The same six-hour Float Your Boat trip is also listed under the name Ibiza Coves by Day. These listings describe the same route and inclusions, so visitors should treat them as one excursion rather than separate boat trips.

The first destination is Cap Blanc Aquarium, a natural sea cave that was historically used as a lobster nursery and now houses species native to the Pityusic waters. After the visit, the boat continues along the coast, passing Cala Gració, Cala Gracioneta, Cala Salada, Cala Saladeta and Punta Galera.
The route then reaches the Margaritas Islands, a nature reserve off the coast near Ses Balandres. Passengers can enjoy an extended swimming stop of approximately 45 minutes, with snorkelling equipment and glass-bottom viewing available for observing marine life.
Drinks, fruit and salty snacks are included, making it a relaxed option for visitors interested in Ibiza’s marine environment. The excursion is scheduled on Thursdays as part of the operator’s regular seasonal programme.
