Thursday, October 8 is shaping up to be another particularly varied day across Ibiza and Formentera, with plenty happening beyond the island's famous nightlife.
From family activities and traditional island celebrations to markets, boat trips, exhibitions, local history, wellness, gastronomy, live music and some of the final major parties of the 2026 season, there is something happening from early morning until well after sunset.
Formentera continues its Autumn of Art programme, Santa Eulària opens a new exhibition, Cala de Bou's festivities continue, and Ibiza's cultural calendar includes everything from contemporary photography to a traditional payés celebration around a historic well.
Here is our guide to some of the best things happening across Ibiza and Formentera on Thursday, October 8, 2026.
Start the Day With Ibiza Experiences
Early risers can make the most of Thursday with several experiences beginning from the morning.
Around the Island Adventure starts at 08:00, while Little Chiringuito at El Chiringuito Ibiza in Es Cavallet is also open from 08:00 until 18:00, combining a beachside setting with activities for children.
At Hotel Riomar in Santa Eulalia, a morning yoga session begins at 08:30, while Yoga & Breakfast at Aiyanna Ibiza starts at 09:00.

Markets and Local Island Life
Formentera's Sant Francesc Market runs from 10:00 to 14:00, offering visitors an easy way to combine a trip to the island's main village with local shopping and crafts.
In Ibiza, the atmosphere is very different but equally local, with traditional and contemporary experiences taking place across the island.
One of the most interesting cultural highlights is the Xacota Pagesa at Pou d'en Micolau in Sant Rafael.
This traditional celebration around a well brings together local folk music and dancing and pays tribute to the end of the agricultural harvest and work in the fields. The gathering also celebrates the importance of water, with traditional sweets such as bunyols and orelletes and local wine traditionally forming part of the occasion.
It is one of the more authentic local traditions taking place on October 8 and a particularly interesting event for visitors who want to experience Ibiza beyond the usual tourist circuit.
Family Fun by the Sea
Thursday has some excellent options for families.
Little Chiringuito at El Chiringuito Ibiza in Es Cavallet runs from 08:00 to 18:00, offering beachside fun and activities for children alongside the restaurant.
At Beachouse Ibiza, Little Beachouse runs from 13:00 to 17:00 and includes activities for children such as yoga, art and games.
There is also BIBO Park in San Rafael and the island's tourist trains, giving families several ways to spend the day without relying on the traditional nightlife scene.
The Biblioteca de Cala de Bou also begins the fourth edition of Ajudant de biblioteca on Thursday. The activity is aimed at children aged seven and over, allowing them to learn how a real library works, from registering books to issuing library cards and managing loans and returns. Sessions run from 17:00 to 19:00 and require advance registration.
Explore Ibiza by Land and Sea
There are plenty of opportunities to explore Ibiza's coastline and countryside on Thursday.
Can Rich in San Antonio hosts its guided winery tour and tasting from 10:00, offering an introduction to local wine production and Ibiza's agricultural heritage.

The exhibition combines photography and textile art to explore themes around women, memory, identity, belonging and the sea. It remains open until October 24, with free admission.
Formentera's Autumn of Art

The Cati Verdera exhibition at the Far de la Mola is also open from 10:00 to 14:00 on Thursday.
Together with the Sant Francesc Market, these events make Formentera an appealing option for visitors looking for art, local creativity and a slower autumn atmosphere.
Local History and Heritage in Formentera
Formentera also has an evening dedicated to its own history.
The Joan Marí Cardona Local Study Conferences take place from 19:00 at the Consell de Formentera's plenary hall.

Discover Ibiza Beyond the Party Scene
Thursday, October 8 shows just how much there is to experience across Ibiza and Formentera in autumn.
There are the major closing parties for those who want to make the most of the final days of the club season, but there is another Ibiza happening at exactly the same time.
Families can spend the day at the beach or discover the island through a library workshop. Art lovers can explore galleries in Santa Eulària, San Miguel and Dalt Vila. Formentera offers markets and Autumn of Art, while local traditions continue with the Xacota Pagesa at Sant Rafael.
There are boats, vineyards, tourist trains, sailing, local history, live music, cinema, wellness and community festivities too.
For anyone visiting Ibiza this October, Thursday is a reminder that the island's story is much bigger than its nightlife. The clubs may be entering their final days of the season, but the island itself is still very much alive.
