Madrid band Tu Otra Bonita is returning to Ibiza this week for the second time to perform at Sonorama Ribera Goes to Ibiza, bringing music from its latest album and a promise to deliver an energetic show for the island's audience.

The group, made up of Héctor Lacosta, Félix Vigara and Alberto Vallecillo, will perform on Saturday, October 3 at Venice Bay in Cala de Bou as part of the sixth edition of Sonorama Goes to Ibiza. The festival takes place on October 2 and 3, combining live music with gastronomy and wine.

Ahead of the band's return, guitarist Félix Vigara spoke about the group's previous experience in Ibiza, its latest album Puta Vida and what audiences can expect from the upcoming performance.

A Second Sonorama Appearance in Ibiza

Vigara said the band was particularly happy to return after enjoying its first Sonorama experience in Ibiza.

He recalled the atmosphere of the previous edition positively and said the festival's format gives participating musicians an opportunity to spend time together away from the stage.

According to Vigara, the artists staying at the same hotel helps create a sense of community and can even lead to future musical collaborations.

Tu Otra Bonita's Saturday performance will take place at Venice Bay, alongside artists including Marlena, Peter Colours, Statuas d Sal and other acts on the 2026 programme.

Presenting Puta Vida

The band is currently presenting its latest album, Puta Vida, and Vigara said the Ibiza set will include songs from the record as well as some of the group's established tracks.

He described the band's current sound as having moved towards a more rock-oriented style compared with its earlier material, which had stronger rumba influences.

The group has also taken a more natural approach to production on the new album, with Vigara explaining that they wanted the live performance of the songs to remain particularly important.

Finding Its Own Sound

Tu Otra Bonita has evolved considerably since its beginnings.

Vigara said the band has always been interested in music more broadly and has developed its sound over the course of its career rather than trying to follow a particular commercial formula.

The group's music combines elements of different styles with themes ranging from celebration and humour to more personal emotions.

According to Vigara, the songs are written by vocalist Héctor Lacosta, with the band's direction developing naturally from the material they create.

"Alitas de mar" Becomes a Fan Favourite

One example of the band's unpredictable relationship with its audience is Alitas de mar, a song from the album Crema.

Vigara noted that the track does not have a music video but has surpassed 25 million streams. The song features Juanito Makandé, whom Vigara described as an important part of the track's story.

The guitarist said the response to the song demonstrated that tracks can sometimes develop an audience beyond what a band initially expects.

Another Side of Ibiza

Ibiza is internationally associated with electronic music, DJs and large clubs, but Vigara said he sees space on the island for many different musical audiences.

He described what he considers two distinct sides of Ibiza's musical identity: the electronic and club scene, alongside an audience interested in other genres and live music.

Sonorama's presence on the island, he suggested, provides a platform for that second side of the musical landscape.

The 2026 festival reflects that variety, bringing Spanish indie, pop and rock acts to Cala de Bou alongside the event's food and wine programme.

What Can Ibiza Expect?

For the October 3 performance, Vigara said audiences can expect songs from Puta Vida alongside some of Tu Otra Bonita's better-known material.

He also promised an energetic performance, telling Ibiza's audience to prepare because the band is coming to "dar mucha caña".

The Saturday programme will take place at Venice Bay, following Friday's free activities and performances around Caló de s'Oli.

24 Hours in Ibiza

Asked what the band would do if it had a completely free 24 hours on the island, Vigara opted for a relatively simple Ibiza experience.

Rather than focusing on the island's nightlife, he said the group would like to visit one of Ibiza's beaches, have something to drink and spend time together without commitments.

It is a fitting description of the quieter side of Ibiza that the band says it also appreciates: time together, good music and the chance to enjoy the island away from the stage.

Sonorama Goes to Ibiza 2026

Sonorama Ribera Goes to Ibiza takes place on October 2 and 3 in Cala de Bou.

The official 2026 programme describes the event as a festival of music and gastronomy, with Friday's activities free of charge and Saturday's programme taking place at Venice Bay.

Tu Otra Bonita's performance on October 3 adds another live Spanish act to an event that brings a different musical atmosphere to Ibiza as the main summer season draws towards its close.
