Sant Antoni will keep most of its seasonal taxis operating into October, with 44 vehicles from the first shift authorised to continue providing service until October 15.

The extension was approved by Sant Antoni Town Hall on September 24 and means that 98 seasonal taxis will remain available in the municipality during the first half of October.

44 first-shift taxis extended

Sant Antoni has 108 seasonal taxi authorisations for 2026, divided into two shifts of 54 vehicles.

The first shift normally operates from April 15 to September 30, while the second shift runs from May 1 to October 15.

Under the latest decision, 44 of the 54 taxis assigned to the first shift have been granted an additional period of operation until October 15.

The remaining 10 first-shift permits will end on September 30 as originally scheduled.

98 seasonal taxis available in early October

From October 1 to October 15, the 44 extended first-shift taxis will operate alongside the 54 taxis already assigned to the second shift.

This gives Sant Antoni a total of 98 seasonal taxis during the first half of October.

That represents 90.7% of the municipality's 108 seasonal taxi authorisations for the 2026 season. The 44 extended permits account for around 81.5% of the first shift.

Extension was already предусмотрed in the seasonal plan

The possibility of extending first-shift authorisations beyond September 30 was already included in Sant Antoni's seasonal taxi plan.

The holders of those permits could voluntarily request an extension of up to October 15.

The September 24 decision confirms which first-shift authorisations have exercised that option.

Second-half October extensions remain undecided

The same seasonal mechanism allows taxis assigned to the second shift to request an extension from October 16 to October 30.

However, the latest municipal decision concerns only the first-shift extensions to October 15.

It does not establish how many second-shift taxis will continue operating after October 15.

108 seasonal taxis in Sant Antoni

Sant Antoni's 108 seasonal authorisations represent approximately 19.6% of the 550 seasonal taxi permits operating across Ibiza during the 2026 season.

The extension therefore keeps a substantial proportion of Sant Antoni's seasonal taxi fleet available beyond the usual end of the first shift.

Extended taxi service into October

The decision means visitors and residents in Sant Antoni will have access to 98 seasonal taxis during the first 15 days of October, rather than the number falling to the 54 vehicles assigned to the second shift.

The latest extension runs until October 15. Any further extension into the second half of October will depend on subsequent decisions concerning the second shift.
