Pocholo Martínez-Bordiú has left MasterChef Celebrity Legends after three programmes, bringing his second appearance in the Spanish cooking competition to an end.

The Ibiza-linked television personality bowed out during the third episode, broadcast on September 22, following an elimination challenge centred on a flan.

A flan proves decisive

Pocholo and Ruth Lorenzo were the two contestants who received the weakest evaluations heading into the elimination challenge.

For the final test, the contestants had to reproduce desserts prepared by former MasterChef participants. Pocholo was assigned a flan created by Carlos Maldonado, winner of MasterChef 3, while Ruth Lorenzo had to recreate a torrija by Eneko Fernández.

The flan proved Pocholo's downfall.

He was unable to get it to set properly, leaving him unable to present the dessert as intended. The judges criticised the result, with Pocholo also acknowledging that the preparation had gone wrong.

Pocholo accepts the decision

After the elimination, Pocholo did not dispute the judges' decision.

He described the failed flan as a “catastrophe” and said he was leaving “with all the reason”, accepting that the dessert had not worked.

His departure was also marked by an emotional farewell to his fellow contestants. Before leaving the kitchen, he asked for scissors so he could cut up his apron and distribute pieces among his colleagues.

His second MasterChef experience

This was Pocholo's second appearance in the MasterChef franchise.

In MasterChef Celebrity 9 in 2024, he reached the semifinals and was eliminated just before the final after failing to convince the judges with another dessert challenge.

His return for MasterChef Celebrity Legends therefore ended considerably earlier, with the former contestant becoming the third person eliminated from the new edition.

An Ibiza farewell

Pocholo has long maintained a close connection with Ibiza, and he referenced the island during his farewell.

After thanking his fellow contestants and describing the experience as memorable, he ended his goodbye by saying that he was in Ibiza for whatever they might need.

For Pocholo, the second MasterChef chapter is now over, but his colourful personality and unmistakable Ibiza connection once again made their mark on the programme.
