A 20-hour introductory course in permaculture design will take place in San Carlos from Friday, October 2 to Sunday, October 4, offering participants an introduction to the principles, methods and practical tools used in permaculture design.

The course is being organised by the Asociación de Permacultura de las Islas Pitiusas (APIP) at its headquarters in San Carlos and will be taught by Giuseppe Sannicandro of Regen Habitat in Italy.

Giuseppe Sannicandro Leads the Course

The training will be led by Giuseppe Sannicandro, from Regen Habitat in Italy.

Sannicandro works in areas including permaculture design, regenerative agriculture, agroforestry, water management and soil fertility.

Regen Habitat describes him as having studied and graduated in Permaculture Design in Tenerife. He has also been involved in teaching and designing permaculture projects in Italy and internationally.

His work includes practical approaches to ecosystem regeneration, agricultural systems and the management of natural resources.

A Focus on Practical Design

The course is centred on learning how to observe and analyse a place before developing a design.

This includes looking at the resources available, understanding how different elements interact and considering natural factors such as orientation and slope.
