Sunday, September 27 brings a full programme of things to do across Ibiza and Formentera, with the final weekend of September packed with culture, traditional celebrations, markets, sport, nature, family activities, art and live music.

This guide leaves the clubbing calendar aside and focuses on other ways to spend the day, from an early-morning race in Sant Mateu and coastal activities in Es Figueral to free theatre, magic, exhibitions, traditional markets and an evening of jazz and world music in Formentera.

Sant Antoni Says Goodbye to the Fira Marinera

The XV Fira Marinera reaches its final day in Sant Antoni on Sunday.

The market area around Passeig de la Mar and Passeig de ses Fonts comes alive from 10:45am, with music, street performances, pirates and corsairs, children’s activities and acrobatic shows.

Raebellion Folk performs during the day, while the afternoon continues with musical parades, storytelling and family entertainment.

At 8pm comes the Despedida del Dragón, followed by further performances before the festival closes with an aerial show at 10:15pm.

The four-day event has filled the centre of Sant Antoni with maritime-themed entertainment, gastronomy, crafts and activities for different ages.  

Magiclown Closes With Two Free Shows

The Magiclown festival reaches its final evening in Sant Josep with two free performances at the Auditori Caló de s’Oli.

At 7pm, Culturactiva Produccions presents Desconcierto, a theatrical show combining humour and live music with a playful take on classical music.

At 8pm, Basque company Orain-Bi presents Mute in the outdoor auditorium, using physical theatre and circus to explore transformation and adaptation.

Both performances are free and open to the public. 

Es Figueral Mixes Sport, Environment and Tradition

The second day of Festa de sa Roca de sa Creu in Es Figueral begins at 9:30am with a beach clean-up and an awareness workshop focusing on microplastics.

At 10am, activities move onto the water with a guided coastal kayak outing and a canoe-based coastal clean-up.

At 11:30am, the programme turns sporty with an open beach-tennis session featuring children's games and gymkhana activities.

The weekend closes at 1pm with a performance of traditional ball pagès by the Colla de Ball Pagès de Sant Carles.

The programme brings together environmental awareness, outdoor sport, maritime activities and traditional Ibiza culture.  

Sant Mateu Race Starts Early

Runners will be up early for the XVIII Cursa Popular Pla de Sant Mateu.

The skating race starts at 9:25am, followed at 9:30am by the 5km and 10km races.

The main circuit consists of a 5km loop, with 10km runners completing two laps.

Children's promotional races begin at around 11am, adding a family element to the annual sporting event.

The race starts and finishes in front of the church in Sant Mateu, bringing sporting activity into the rural landscape of northern Ibiza.  

Sant Miquel Continues Its Festivities

The Festes de Sant Miquel continue on Sunday with several free activities.

At 5pm, magician Alexis presents a magic and illusion show, while a Manilla card championship takes place at the local seniors' club.

At 6:30pm, Plaça de Sant Miquel becomes an open-air cinema with a free screening of Sonic 3.

An art exhibition by the Taller Artístic Gartxi can also be visited at the municipal exhibition space from 6pm to 8pm.

The Sant Miquel festivities continue through September 29, so Sunday is part of a much larger programme of traditional, cultural and community events.  

Jesús Ends Its Festivities With a Children's Morning

The Festes de Jesús reach their final scheduled day with the XI Gincana Infantil.

The children's gymkhana begins at 10am at Can Lluís de sa Rota, providing a final family activity as the village celebrations come to a close.

The event is designed around children's games and challenges and forms part of the wider programme of Jesús festivities.

Christopher Columbus Comes to La Marina

At midday, Sa Peixateria in La Marina hosts the dramatized reading Christopher Columbus, The Last Voyage.

The performance combines theatre, narration and music, with actor Jesús Rumbo, a script by Carlos Garrido, music by Miguel San Miguel and direction by Ramón Mayol.

The work explores Columbus's final voyage and the events surrounding the final stage of his life.

The performance is part of Ibiza Town's cultural programme and takes place in the historic port district. 

Jazz Meets Flamenco at Can Ventosa

At 7pm, Can Ventosa in Ibiza Town hosts Jazz Flamenco, performed by the Big Band Ciutat d'Eivissa under the direction of Vicent Tur.

The performance features guest artist Amador and dancer Penélope Tafur, bringing together large-ensemble jazz and flamenco performance.

Tickets are €10.

It is one of the principal cultural events taking place in Ibiza Town on Sunday evening.  

A Full Sunday of Art in Dalt Vila

The X Eivissa Art Fair reaches its final day on Sunday at Es Polvorí in Dalt Vila.

The contemporary art event brings together more than 70 artists and remains open on Saturday and Sunday mornings.

Sunday is also the final opportunity to visit several exhibitions around the island, including Ana Jakimow's exhibition at the Casa Parroquial in Sant Joan and Giuseppe Concas's Es Ball at Can Curt in Sant Agustí.

The latter explores traditional ball pagès through the work of the artist and closes its run on September 27.

Sunday evening brings the final September edition of the Las Dalias Night Market.

The market opens from 7pm, with the San Carlos venue offering crafts, fashion, jewellery, food and a relaxed evening atmosphere.

Las Dalias officially lists the September 27 event as its Closing Night Market, marking the end of its summer Sunday Night Market run.  

Family Time at El Náutico

Families looking for a relaxed afternoon in Ibiza Town can head to El Náutico, where the Kids Corner runs on Sundays from 1pm to 6pm.

Cotton Cactus performs American folk at Can Bernat Vinya from 1pm, while Ilse & Cris bring acoustic pop and rock versions to Can Jaume from 5:30pm.

Recycled Art in Formentera

The second Balearic Islands collective exhibition of recycled art continues at the Centre Antoni Tur 'Gabrielet.

The exhibition is open from 11am to 2pm and again from 6pm to 8pm.

It brings together artists and artisans working with recycled materials and is organised in connection with Qué Celeste's environmental programme.

The exhibition offers another cultural stop for visitors interested in art and sustainability.  

Marsupilami for Families

Formentera's Sala de Cultura cinema screens Marsupilami at 7pm on Sunday.

The French adventure comedy is aimed at family audiences and is recommended for viewers aged six and above.

The third edition of Formentera Sona concludes on Sunday evening.

There may be plenty of nightlife elsewhere on the island, but there is certainly no need to enter a club to have a full Sunday in Ibiza and Formentera.
