Santa Eulària Town Hall is organising a theatrical activity for teenagers on Friday, 13 November 2026, to raise awareness of unwanted loneliness and its impact on emotional wellbeing and mental health.
The event will take place at Teatre Espanya and will combine three theatrical monologues with participatory activities, including role-playing and improvisation. The initiative aims to encourage young people to reflect on their social relationships, recognise emotional distress and understand the importance of seeking support when necessary.
Organised within the municipality's Plan on Drugs and Other Behavioural Addictions, the activity will be presented by the independent theatre company Anna Xantal.
Three monologues exploring the challenges of adolescence
The theatrical performance will address situations that many teenagers may encounter as they navigate friendships, social expectations and their emotional development.
The three monologues will explore themes including fear of rejection, pressure to fit into a group, social exclusion, the influence of social media and difficulties expressing emotions.
Through stories reflecting situations familiar to young people, the performance will highlight how someone can feel lonely and misunderstood even when surrounded by other people.
The aim is to encourage adolescents to consider the difference between simply being alone and experiencing unwanted loneliness, while reflecting on the importance of healthy relationships and emotional support.
Participatory activities after the performance
The initiative will continue beyond the theatrical presentation.
After the three monologues, teenagers will be invited to participate in practical activities, including role-playing and improvisation exercises.
These dynamics are designed to help participants reflect on the situations presented on stage and connect them with their own experiences.
According to the Town Hall, the initiative aims to encourage empathy, strengthen self-esteem and promote healthy social relationships. It also seeks to help adolescents identify situations of emotional distress and recognise when asking for help may be important.
Part of Santa Eulària's municipal prevention plan
The theatrical activity forms part of the preventive measures included in Santa Eulària's Municipal Plan on Drugs and Other Behavioural Addictions, approved on 24 December 2025.
The plan is structured around four strategic lines and contains seven general objectives and twelve specific objectives.
Its priorities include promoting emotional wellbeing among young people and strengthening protective factors against risky behaviours. The strategy uses awareness-raising activities and the development of personal and social skills as tools to support these objectives.
By incorporating theatre and interactive exercises, the municipality is using an educational and participatory format to address issues that can sometimes be difficult for teenagers to discuss openly.
