O Beach Ibiza Gimnàstica Club Wins 12 Medals at International Competition in England

November 07, 2026

O Beach Ibiza Gimnàstica Club has finished its 2026 competitive season with an impressive international result, winning 12 medals, including 11 gold and one silver, at the Oxford Academic Cup in England.

The competition took place from 31 October to 1 November at Radley College in Abingdon, Oxfordshire, bringing together athletes competing in rhythmic gymnastics and group aesthetic gymnastics.

The Ibiza club travelled with a delegation of ten gymnasts representing different age categories and disciplines. Their results included medals across individual rhythmic gymnastics events, apparatus competitions, overall classifications and group aesthetic gymnastics.

The competition marked the final international appearance of the club's 2026 season.

Gold medal for the 10–12 age group aesthetic gymnastics team

One of the standout results came from the club's group aesthetic gymnastics team in the 10–12 age category, competing in the short programme.

The quartet, formed by Ada Mediero, Sofía Carreño, Ainara Martín and Aina Bela, secured the gold medal in their category.

The result adds to the team's achievements in 2026, following its silver medal at the Spanish Championships held in Huesca in July.

The success in England represents another important milestone for the young athletes, who have continued to develop through national and international competitions.

Nine gymnasts named in the individual rhythmic gymnastics events

The club's report identifies nine athletes who competed in the individual rhythmic gymnastics events:

  • Ada Mediero

  • Aina Bela

  • Ainara Martín

  • Ana Mari

  • Julia Carreño

  • Lucía Prats

  • Mar González

  • Nuria Mari

  • Sofía Carreño

The athletes competed across different categories, apparatus and overall classifications, contributing to the club's final tally of 12 medals.

The club travelled with ten gymnasts in total, although its published report does not separately identify the tenth member of the delegation in the list of individual competitors.

Masterclass with international gymnastics champions

Beyond the competition itself, the trip also provided an opportunity for the athletes to develop their technical skills through an advanced gymnastics masterclass held at Radley College.

The session was led by Bulgarian gymnasts Maria Mehilemova and Hristiana Kovacheva, whom the organisers presented as two-time world champions and one-time European champions.

The masterclass allowed the young athletes to work on technical elements, learn from experienced international competitors and gain exposure to different training methods.

For the club, these experiences form an important part of the athletes' development, offering opportunities to learn and improve beyond their regular competition programme.

Paola Salsoso praises the team's commitment throughout the season

The club's technical director, Paola Salsoso, expressed her satisfaction with the results and the commitment demonstrated by the gymnasts throughout the year.

She highlighted the hours of training, effort and consistency behind the achievements, while emphasising the importance of giving young athletes opportunities to compete internationally, learn and continue progressing.

Salsoso said the club was pleased with the work completed during the season and was already looking forward to the challenges ahead.

O Beach Ibiza Gimnàstica Club turns its attention to 2027

With the Oxford competition completed, O Beach Ibiza Gimnàstica Club has brought its 2026 competitive season to a close.

The club will now begin preparing for the 2027 season, setting new sporting objectives and continuing its work to develop the technical abilities and competitive experience of its gymnasts.

The 12-medal result in England provides a strong conclusion to the year and highlights the progress made by the Ibiza athletes across rhythmic gymnastics and group aesthetic gymnastics.

The club has also thanked the Oxford Cup organising team for the event and its hospitality, as well as the families, local councils providing training facilities and sponsors whose support helped make the season possible.
