Sonorama Goes to Ibiza Battles the Rain as Music Takes Centre Stage at Caló de s’Oli

5 October 2026

Sonorama Ribera Goes to Ibiza got underway on Friday, October 2, with its opening day at Auditori Caló de s’Oli in Sant Josep marked by live music, changing weather conditions and a series of last-minute adjustments.

The sixth edition of the festival brought its first day of concerts to the island as a free, open-air event. Rain affected the programme and caused delays, but the music continued and all of the artists scheduled for the opening day were able to take to the stage.

Music Continues Despite the Rain

Kitai opened the festival with an energetic performance before Modelo continued the programme.

As the weather deteriorated, the organisers and artists were forced to adapt. Éxtasis turned the disruption into part of the show, improvising a song about the rain and the unusual circumstances surrounding its performance.

With the programme running around an hour behind schedule, Sonorama director Javier Ajenjo was also involved in coordinating the evening and helping the event continue despite the changing conditions.

Tenda faced another spell of heavier rain during its performance and moved the concert under an Estrella Damm tent. Rather than ending the evening early, the audience stayed and continued watching the show in a more intimate setting.

Comandante Twin Take the Music to the Crowd

Another memorable moment came during Comandante Twin's performance.

The Madrid band moved its performance closer to the audience, helping maintain the atmosphere while also allowing Oslo Ovnies to use the stage space.

The decision meant the programme could continue despite the accumulated delay, with the artists adapting to the conditions rather than abandoning their performances.

For the audience, the weather became part of an unusual opening night. Rain and changes to the schedule did not prevent people from staying in front of the stage and supporting the performers.

Sonorama Brings Its Festival Format to Ibiza

Sonorama Goes to Ibiza is designed to combine live music with the island's wider tourism offering, including its landscapes, gastronomy and outdoor settings.

The 2026 edition was held over October 2 and 3 in the Cala de Bou area. The official programme included artists such as Kitai, Modelo, Éxtasis, Tenda, Comandante Twin, Oslo Ovnies, Anabel Lee, Peter Colours, Anni B Sweet, Statuas d Sal, Tu Otra Bonita and Marlena.

The festival also confirmed before the event that Ginebras would not perform in Ibiza for reasons unrelated to the organisation. Statuas d Sal was subsequently added to the programme.

Second Day Moves to Venice Bay

The festival continued on Saturday, October 3, with the main concert programme moving to Venice Bay.

Cinerama opened the day's activities at 13:00 with the "Bouza vs Dylan" project. The afternoon programme then included Anabel Lee at 17:00, Peter Colours at 18:05 and Anni B Sweet in an acoustic trio format at 19:15.

Statuas d Sal followed at 20:30, with Tu Otra Bonita scheduled for 21:45 and Marlena closing the concert programme at 23:00.

Unlike the opening day, which was free, the second day required tickets. The festival's official information confirms the event ran across October 2 and 3, with the October 2 activities offered free of charge.

A Rainy Start That Did Not Stop the Music

The opening day demonstrated the challenges of staging an outdoor festival in Ibiza during an unsettled October weather period.

Despite rain, delays and changes to the planned format, Sonorama Goes to Ibiza managed to keep the programme moving and give audiences the live performances they had come to see.

Rather than allowing the weather to define the event, artists and organisers adapted throughout the evening, while the audience remained engaged until the end.

For Sonorama, the Ibiza edition once again brought its combination of Spanish live music and festival culture to the island, extending the programme beyond the traditional summer season.
