Soul Food & Blues Returns to Caló de s’Oli with Will Jacobs, Marcos Coll and The Soul Connectors

3 October 2026

Ibiza is set for another afternoon of blues, soul and Southern-inspired food as the Soul Food & Blues festival returns to the outdoor area of the Auditorio Caló de s’Oli on Monday, 12 October 2026.

Now in its sixth edition, the festival brings together live music and cuisine inspired by the southern United States as part of the Cala de Bou and Port des Torrent festivities.

The main performance of the day will come from Chicago blues guitarist and singer Will Jacobs, who will perform alongside Madrid-born, Berlin-based harmonica player Marcos Coll. The band will also feature bassist Javier Vacas and Ibiza-based drummer David Barona.

A Day of Blues, Soul and Southern Food

The programme begins around lunchtime, with Betterman DJ opening the afternoon before The Soul Connectors take the stage.

The Ibiza-rooted group brings together Argentine singer and guitarist Alejandra Burgos, Madrid guitarist Pablo Sanpa, Argentine bassist Christian Morana and drummer David Barona.

The band will also be joined by Ibiza-based singer and guitarist Matteo Crocetti as a special guest.

The Soul Connectors were due to perform at last year's festival, but that edition was suspended because of the threat of storms. The postponed programme was eventually held on 28 December with performances by Acoustic Springsteen and Little Pomegranate Honey.

This year's festival gives The Soul Connectors the opportunity to present their debut album, Free, at the event.

Will Jacobs and Marcos Coll Lead the Afternoon

The headline performance will come from Will Jacobs and Marcos Coll.

Jacobs is a Chicago-born guitarist and vocalist whose music covers blues, soul, rhythm and blues and zydeco. He has performed internationally and has worked with a number of established blues and gospel artists.

Marcos Coll, originally from Madrid and raised in Galicia, is an internationally recognised harmonica player who has been based in Berlin since 2004. His career has included performances and tours across Europe, Asia and North America, as well as collaborations with artists from different musical traditions.

Jacobs and Coll have worked together for eight years. In 2019 they released their first album as a duo, Taking Our Time.

In 2026, they returned with One More Time, recorded live and produced and mixed by Jairo Zavala of Depedro.

Their current live project combines blues with rhythm and blues, soul and funk, with Javier Vacas on bass and David Barona on drums for the Ibiza performance.

Food Meets Music

Food is an important part of the Soul Food & Blues concept.

The festival will feature servings of Black Eyed Peas, a Southern American-style stew prepared with beans, sausage and pork, alongside food trucks.

The food element is designed to complement the musical programme and highlight the connection between Southern American cuisine and the musical traditions that developed across the region.

The festival is organised by the Sant Josep de sa Talaia Town Hall and the Asociación Cultural Great River Road.

Part of the Cala de Bou Festivities

Soul Food & Blues forms part of the 2026 Cala de Bou and Port des Torrent festivities, which run from 2 to 20 October and include music, cultural activities, family events, gastronomy and sports.

Monday, 12 October is one of the main days of the celebrations, with additional activities taking place around Cala de Bou throughout the day.

The Soul Food & Blues programme itself is scheduled at the outdoor area of the Auditorio Caló de s’Oli, with the official Sant Josep music programme listing the event from 13:00 to 19:00.
