El bosc protector: Five Artists Explore Climate Change and Desertification in Ibiza

05 November 2026 г.

A new collective art exhibition exploring climate change, desertification and the protection of natural ecosystems will open at Far de ses Coves Blanques in Sant Antoni on Friday, 6 November 2026. Titled El bosc protector. Mirades artístiques davant la desertificació, the exhibition brings together five artists who use different creative disciplines to encourage reflection on humanity's relationship with nature and the importance of protecting the environment.

The exhibition features works by Julia Fragua, Carmen Almécija, Pep Monerris 'Bagaix', Augusto Moreno and Lina Andiñach. Visitors will be able to explore the collection free of charge until 28 November.

Five Artists Reflect on the Relationship Between Nature and Humanity

The exhibition addresses the climate crisis and the growing distance between human beings and their natural surroundings, placing particular emphasis on the importance of forests as essential ecosystems for environmental balance.

Through painting, sculpture, assemblage and other artistic expressions, the five participating artists explore the relationship between nature, materials and creativity.

Rather than focusing on messages of guilt, the exhibition seeks to offer a more intimate and hopeful perspective, encouraging visitors to pause, reconsider their relationship with the natural world and reconnect with the environment through art.

The artists describe their approach as an invitation to change perspective and discover a more poetic connection with nature.

Opening Event Includes 'Absorbiendo CO2' Artistic Performance

The official inauguration takes place on Friday, 6 November, at 19:00.

One of the highlights of the opening evening will be Absorbiendo CO2, a live artistic happening featuring Lina Andiñach alongside the other participating artists and Ibizan poet Júlia Roig.

The performance forms part of the exhibition's wider environmental theme, bringing together visual art and poetry to encourage reflection on climate change and the preservation of natural ecosystems.
