Cáritas to Host Mental Health and Employment Day for Professionals in Ibiza

Cáritas Diocesana de Ibiza and Formentera will bring together professionals and businesses in the Pityusic Islands for a dedicated day examining the relationship between mental health and employment.
The event, titled Salud Mental y Empleo, will take place on Wednesday, 7 October 2026, from 09:00 to 14:30 at Cáritas' new facilities in Can Pep Xico, located at kilometre 5.2 on the Ibiza to Sant Antoni road.
The day is designed to create space for professional discussion, awareness and practical activities around mental health and socio-labour integration.
Focus on Mental Health and Employment
The programme will include a presentation of Cáritas' Employment Programme, highlighting the organisation's work supporting people as they move towards employment.
Cáritas' wider employment programmes include personalised employment guidance, training, individual support and collaboration with businesses to improve access to decent and stable employment.
The Ibiza event will also include the reading of the manifesto for Decent Work Day.
Exploring Emotional Distress and Employment
One of the central sessions will examine the impact of emotional distress on socio-labour integration processes.
The presentation will be given by Sonia Campos, a psychologist working in Formación en Alternancia e Itinerarios Laborales at Cáritas Girona.
The session will look at how emotional wellbeing can interact with people's processes of entering or returning to employment.
Rather than focusing exclusively on employment itself, the programme is intended to encourage professionals to consider the wider circumstances that can affect a person's path towards work.
Practical Activities and Discussion
The morning will also include a group awareness activity using a series of challenges and games designed to encourage participation.
Participants will then take part in discussion tables, creating an opportunity to exchange experiences and perspectives on mental health, employment and social integration.
The format combines presentations with practical and participatory activities rather than being solely a conference-style event.
European and Public Funding
The project receives support and co-financing from the European Social Fund, the Govern Balear and Spain's state income-tax allocation for social purposes.
Cáritas' national employment programmes also receive FSE+ co-financing for initiatives aimed at improving employment opportunities for people experiencing or at risk of social exclusion.
