Italian hard techno brand Galactica is preparing to close its first-ever Ibiza residency at Eden after welcoming around 20,000 clubbers and some of the biggest names in the harder end of electronic music.

Galactica Takes Over Tuesdays at Eden

An Italian hard techno brand has spent the summer challenging Ibiza's established clubbing formula with one of the island's most ambitious new residencies of 2026.

Galactica has brought its first full Ibiza season to Eden Ibiza in San Antonio, taking over Tuesday nights from May 26 through September 15 in collaboration with legendary Italian club Cocoricò.

The residency has focused firmly on hard techno, industrial sounds and high-intensity electronic music, offering an alternative to the more dominant house, tech house and commercial electronic styles found across many Ibiza lineups.

With its final party scheduled for September 15, Galactica is now approaching the end of its debut season on the island.

Around 20,000 Clubbers Have Passed Through Eden

According to Mixmag's report, approximately 20,000 people from Spain, Italy, the UK, Germany and the Netherlands attended Galactica's events across the residency.

The international turnout is particularly notable because hard techno remains a relatively niche genre within Ibiza's wider clubbing landscape.

Galactica has therefore spent the summer building a dedicated audience around a sound that is considerably faster, heavier and more industrial than much of the music traditionally associated with the island's biggest weekly residencies.

Rather than testing the format with one or two special events, the organisers committed to a full-season residency.

That decision appears to have paid off.

A Different Sound for San Antonio

Galactica's arrival gave hard techno fans in Ibiza a dedicated weekly home.

The residency brought artists from across Europe's underground scene to Eden, including 999999999, Cera Khin, Holy Priest, Nikolina, Angerfist, Luca Agnelli and Reinier Zonneveld.

Other artists featured throughout the season included Alignment, Charlie Sparks, Clara Cuvé, Andres Campo, Jazzy and Yasmin Gardezi.

The programme was deliberately built around high-energy techno rather than adapting the concept to fit more commercial Ibiza sounds.

That consistency became one of the defining characteristics of the residency.

Why Hard Techno Was a Risk in Ibiza

Ibiza is globally associated with electronic music, but not every branch of the scene has the same presence on the island.

Hard techno has traditionally occupied a smaller space within Ibiza's major club programmes compared with house, tech house, EDM and other commercially established styles.

Galactica therefore entered Ibiza with a relatively straightforward but ambitious strategy: instead of booking one-off events aimed at an existing Ibiza crowd, it would attempt to establish a recurring community around hard techno.

Founder Antonio Mazzotta told Mixmag that Ibiza was the brand's biggest challenge.

The decision was to commit to a long-term weekly residency rather than arriving for only one or two dates.

From Bologna to Ibiza

Galactica was founded in Bologna in 2018 by Antonio Mazzotta.

The concept initially developed around large-scale electronic events in Italy while maintaining strong roots in underground techno.

Over time, Galactica expanded beyond Italy, hosting events in cities including London, Amsterdam, Paris, Lisbon, Valencia, Madrid and Malta.

Its connection with Cocoricò also became an important part of its development.

The legendary Riccione club, founded in 1989, has long been associated with forward-thinking electronic music and provided Galactica with an established Italian home before its move to Ibiza.

The Eden residency represents another stage in the brand's international expansion.

Cocoricò and Eden Join Forces

The Ibiza residency was presented as a collaboration between Galactica and Cocoricò.

That partnership connected two important strands of Italian club culture: Cocoricò's long history as an influential nightclub and Galactica's newer identity as a hard techno-focused brand.

The result was a weekly event built around a much harder musical direction.

Eden's Void Incubus Gold sound system was also an important part of the concept, with Galactica placing sound and physical impact at the centre of the experience.

The Lineup Was Built Around Hard Techno's New Generation

Across the season, Galactica welcomed a broad selection of international artists.

999999999 were among the most significant bookings, representing the direction that Galactica wanted to establish on the island.

The duo's acid-heavy approach is closely aligned with the faster and more intense side of contemporary techno.

Other major appearances included Angerfist, one of the biggest names in hardcore, Reinier Zonneveld in a live performance, Cera Khin, Holy Priest, Charlie Sparks, Luca Agnelli and Nikolina.

The lineup also gave visibility to a strong group of female artists from Europe's hard techno scene, including Clara Cuvé, Jazzy, Yasmin Gardezi and Cera Khin.

More Than a Party Brand

One of the most revealing aspects of Galactica's Ibiza season has been the organisers' attempt to build an identity beyond individual DJs.

Mazzotta told Mixmag that audiences had increasingly begun to identify with Galactica itself rather than attending simply because of a particular artist appearing on the bill.

That distinction is important in modern electronic music.

A successful recurring brand needs to offer an identity that people recognise from one city to another, regardless of the particular lineup.

Galactica appears to be positioning itself in precisely that way.

Ibiza Became a Test of the Brand

The Ibiza residency was effectively a test of whether Galactica's international audience could support a weekly presence on the island.

The approximately 20,000 attendees reported across the season suggest that the concept attracted a significant audience from multiple European markets.

The international mix of visitors is also notable.

Rather than relying exclusively on San Antonio's traditional British and Irish tourist base, the residency drew attendees from Spain, Italy, the UK, Germany and the Netherlands.

That helped give the Tuesday parties a more international identity.

A New Option for Ibiza's Techno Community

The importance of Galactica's season extends beyond attendance figures.

The residency has helped create a consistent space for one of electronic music's harder styles at a time when Ibiza's biggest clubs continue to be dominated by house, tech house and more accessible commercial sounds.

There have been other hard techno events on the island in 2026, including Teletech's three-party run at Amnesia.

However, Galactica has been among the only weekly hard techno residencies operating throughout the summer.

That consistency gives the project particular significance for the island's underground community.

One Final Night at Eden

Galactica's debut Ibiza residency now has just one party remaining.

The closing event takes place at Eden Ibiza on Tuesday, September 15, bringing the first season to an end.

The final lineup includes Fantasm, KARAH, SANTØS B2B Gianni Di Bernardo and Parsa Jafari.

The closing night follows 15 completed dates across the summer and will provide the final chapter of Galactica's first full Ibiza season.

Could Galactica Return to Ibiza?

The brand's founder is already looking beyond the end of this season.

Mazzotta told Mixmag that the next step is to continue expanding the Galactica community internationally, with ambitions that span Ibiza, Riccione, London, Madrid and destinations further afield.

The long-term goal is to make the Galactica sound and identity immediately recognisable wherever the brand appears.

That makes the first Ibiza residency more than a standalone summer project.

It is part of a wider attempt to establish Galactica as an international electronic music platform.

Hard Techno Has Found a Home in San Antonio

Galactica arrived in Ibiza with a clear proposition: bring harder, faster techno to the island and give its community a weekly home.

After a summer of international lineups, approximately 20,000 attendees and 15 completed dates, the experiment is coming to a close.

The final party on September 15 will determine the end of the 2026 chapter, but Galactica has already demonstrated that there is an audience in Ibiza for a sound that sits well outside the island's most commercial clubbing mainstream.

From Bologna and Riccione to San Antonio, the project has taken another major step in becoming an international hard techno community rather than simply another Italian event brand.
