Can Ventosa Hosts Double Bill of Contemporary Dance With Skin Deep

12 de September de 2026

Can Ventosa in Ibiza Town will host a special double bill of contemporary dance on Friday, September 18, bringing an international production to the island as part of Ibiza's autumn cultural programme.

The evening will feature Skin Deep, a programme by the German-based international company Of Curious Nature, built around the acclaimed work A Thousand Steps to Silence by Vietnamese choreographer Tú Hoàng.

A Dance Programme About Grief and Transformation

At the centre of the performance is A Thousand Steps to Silence, a choreographic work created for Of Curious Nature by Tú Hoàng.

The piece explores themes including grief, detachment and inner transformation through highly physical contemporary movement.

Rather than relying on an elaborate stage setting, the production uses the dancers' bodies, choreography and lighting to create an increasingly emotional and symbolic experience.

Of Curious Nature Comes to Ibiza

Of Curious Nature is an international contemporary dance company based in Germany.

For its Ibiza appearance, the company will present a production that combines precise choreography with an approach focused on the physical and psychological dimensions of movement.

The programme also incorporates the artistic vision of choreographer Helge Letonja, creating a connection between physical vulnerability and inner strength.

Minimalist Staging

One of the defining features of the performance is its minimalist visual language.

Lighting plays a particularly important role, shaping the space and highlighting the dancers' movements against the darker stage environment.

This stripped-back approach keeps the focus on the performers and the emotional progression of the choreography rather than on elaborate scenery.

Contemporary Dance in Can Ventosa

The performance adds an international contemporary dance production to Can Ventosa's autumn cultural calendar.

The venue has become an important space for theatre, music and performing arts in Ibiza Town, giving local audiences access to productions from outside the island as well as work by artists connected to Ibiza.

The September programme provides an opportunity to experience contemporary dance in a setting more commonly associated with traditional performing arts.

Friday, September 18

The double bill will take place on Friday, September 18 at 8pm at the Espai Cultural de Can Ventosa on Avenida Ignasi Wallis in Ibiza Town.

Advance tickets are priced at €15.

The performance offers an evening centred on contemporary movement, international choreography and a deeply emotional exploration of silence, grief and transformation.

An International Addition to Ibiza's Cultural Calendar

The arrival of Of Curious Nature gives Ibiza audiences the chance to see a contemporary dance production created through an international collaboration of choreographers and performers.

With Tú Hoàng's A Thousand Steps to Silence at its heart and Helge Letonja's artistic direction shaping the wider programme, Skin Deep brings a very different form of storytelling to Can Ventosa.

For one evening, the auditorium will become a space where movement, light and emotion take centre stage.
