Charlotte de Witte has been voted the World’s No. 1 Techno DJ in DJ Mag’s Top 100 DJs 2026 poll, retaining the title for a seventh consecutive year while climbing to No. 6 overall.
The Belgian DJ and producer was recognised during DJ Mag LIVE at [UNVRS] Ibiza on Tuesday, October 6, where the results of the 2026 Top 100 DJs poll were revealed.
Her No. 6 position marks a three-place rise from No. 9 in 2025, giving de Witte her highest overall ranking in the poll to date.
Seven consecutive years at the top of techno
De Witte has maintained her position as the leading techno artist in DJ Mag’s public vote for seven consecutive years.
Her latest result also places her directly inside the Top 10 overall, between Dimitri Vegas & Like Mike at No. 5 and Armin van Buuren at No. 7.
The ranking reflects another major year for the Belgian artist, whose work has continued to expand across DJ performances, production, her KNTXT label and new audiovisual projects.
The Resistance arrives in Ibiza
One of the defining developments of de Witte’s 2026 has been The Resistance, a new live audiovisual project.
The show launched during the summer at [UNVRS] Ibiza, introducing a new visual and musical dimension to her performances.
The project was subsequently expanded for an XXL presentation at Belgium’s Rock Werchter, where it drew a crowd of more than 40,000 people.
The Resistance is rooted in de Witte’s connection to underground club culture while exploring a larger-scale live format.
New music through KNTXT
De Witte has also continued to develop her music through her own KNTXT label.
Her 2026 output has included the ‘Amor’ EP, alongside ‘A Prayer For The Dancefloor’ featuring Conduit and ‘Malina’.
The Resistance has also been transformed into a four-track EP featuring collaborations with Theo Nasa and XSALT.
Importantly, proceeds from that release are being donated to the Nighttime Foundation, which supports grassroots nightlife communities and works to protect nightlife as a cultural space.
A growing presence beyond the club
The latest Top 100 result comes as de Witte continues to expand the scale of her performances while maintaining a strong connection to techno’s underground roots.
Her rise to No. 6 overall is particularly significant within a 2026 poll that has seen house and techno artists make substantial gains.
DJ Mag's wider analysis describes this year's results as a potential watershed moment for the Top 100 DJs, with established artists from these genres climbing the ranking and several new names entering the list.
