Ibiza Has a New Burger Champion: Maneki Wins Sa Millor 2026 as Formentera’s Mama Carmen Makes History
9 September 2026
The search for the best burger in Ibiza and Formentera has officially ended, and the winners of Sa Millor 2026 have been announced.
Now in its third edition, the Balearic burger competition has crowned new champions on Ibiza while Formentera's winning restaurant has made history by claiming the island title for the third consecutive year.
Maneki Burger in Cala Llonga took first place in Ibiza with its Torito Bravo Fusion, while Mama Carmen once again won in Formentera with La Cruising.
The 2026 competition brought together restaurants from across the Balearic Islands and attracted more than 4,100 public votes.
Maneki Wins Ibiza With Torito Bravo Fusion
There is a new burger champion in Ibiza.
Maneki Burger, based in Cala Llonga, won the island's Sa Millor 2026 title with its Torito Bravo Fusion.
The winning creation has an interesting story behind it. According to FanBurgerClub, the burger evolved from a dish of oxtail cooked in a Josper oven that the restaurant had served in its earlier restaurant project.
The team combined that concept with other ingredients and transformed it into one of its signature burgers.
The result was enough to take the top spot in this year's Ibiza competition.
Bibi Smash Takes Second Place
Bibi Smash Burger finished second in Ibiza with its Double Beef Smash Burger.
The restaurant also collected one of the competition's major special awards, being named the Best Smash Burger in the Balearic Islands for 2026.
Its burger was described by the organisers as a homemade creation, with everything from the bun to the sauce prepared in-house and a focus on a crisp exterior combined with juicy beef.
That combination clearly resonated with both the public and the professional judging panel.
Wabi Sabi Completes the Ibiza Podium
Third place in Ibiza went to Wabi Sabi Ibiza with its Smash Burger de Ternera.
The restaurant, based in the Santa Eulària area, describes its food as a fusion of Italian and Ecuadorian influences, bringing together international flavours with a strong focus on quality ingredients.
Its appearance in the final three gives Wabi Sabi a place among Ibiza's leading burger destinations in the 2026 competition.
The final Ibiza podium was therefore:
Maneki Burger with Torito Bravo Fusion.
Bibi Smash Burger with Double Beef Smash Burger.
Wabi Sabi Ibiza with Smash Burger de Ternera.
Mama Carmen Makes Formentera History
On Formentera, there was no change at the top.
Mama Carmen won the island title once again, taking first place with La Cruising.
This was the restaurant's third consecutive Sa Millor victory, meaning it has won every Formentera edition of the competition since the contest was launched.
The 2026 victory therefore gives Mama Carmen a perfect three-from-three record.
What Is La Cruising?
Mama Carmen's winning burger for 2026 is called La Cruising.
The burger features 180 grams of aged beef together with smoked white cheddar, marinated pork belly, homemade pickles and a burger sauce inspired by Big Mac-style flavours.
The combination gives the burger a deliberately indulgent profile, with the beef and smoked cheese balanced by the pork belly, pickles and sauce.
It was ultimately enough to keep Mama Carmen at the top of the Formentera rankings for another year.
Espinaler Formentera Wins a Special Award
Although Mama Carmen claimed the main Formentera title, Espinaler Formentera also received major recognition.
Its Atenea burger was named the Most Original Burger in the Balearic Islands for 2026.
The award is one of the competition's special categories and recognises a creation that stands out for its originality rather than simply its position in the island rankings.
That means Formentera took home two significant honours from this year's competition.
How Sa Millor Chooses Its Winners
The final results combine public opinion with professional judging.
Public voting accounts for 30 percent of the final score, while the professional jury contributes the remaining 70 percent.
This system is designed to balance the views of customers who actually taste the burgers with the technical assessment of the judging panel.
The jury tasted and evaluated the finalist burgers before determining the final rankings.
More than 4,100 people took part in the public voting process during the 2026 edition.
More Than 50 Restaurants Took Part
Sa Millor 2026 involved restaurants from Ibiza, Formentera, Mallorca and Menorca.
The competition organisers reported 51 participating restaurants across the Balearic Islands for the completed edition.
The event has developed into a regional competition rather than a contest limited to a single island, with each major island receiving its own main title.
That structure allows restaurants to compete for local recognition while also qualifying for special awards covering the entire Balearic Islands.
Ibiza Had Eight Burger Competitors
The Ibiza competition featured a range of different burger styles.
Among the participating restaurants were Maneki Burger, Bibi Smash Burger, Wabi Sabi Ibiza, Camelot Burger Ibiza, Restaurante Grill Sa Brasa, The Booo Cala de Bou, Vinyl Burger Ibiza and Good Life Ibiza.
The selection included classic beef burgers, smash-style creations and more experimental recipes.
The three finalists were Maneki, Bibi Smash and Wabi Sabi.
Formentera Featured Five Finalists and Participants
Formentera's competition included Mama Carmen and Espinaler Formentera among the island's leading contenders, alongside Fonda La Savina, Sa Panxa and Can Pasqual.
The island's burger scene therefore offered a range of approaches, from traditional combinations to more creative recipes.
In the final ranking, Mama Carmen emerged as the champion once again, while Espinaler secured the special originality award.
A Growing Burger Culture in Ibiza and Formentera
The popularity of Sa Millor reflects the growing importance of burger-focused restaurants across the islands.
Ibiza's food scene has expanded considerably beyond traditional Mediterranean dining, with international concepts and specialist burger restaurants becoming increasingly visible.
Smash burgers in particular have grown in popularity, alongside more elaborate gourmet creations incorporating local ingredients and international influences.
The competition gives these businesses an opportunity to showcase individual recipes while allowing customers to discover restaurants they may not otherwise visit.
The Public Plays a Major Role
Although the professional jury has the greater weighting in the final result, public participation remains a major part of Sa Millor.
Customers visit participating restaurants, order the special competition burger and then vote for their preferred creation.
The more than 4,100 votes recorded in 2026 demonstrate the level of public engagement with the competition.
It also means the winners are not based solely on a closed judging process. Customers have a direct role in determining the overall result.
The Competition's Special Awards
Beyond the main island titles, Sa Millor 2026 included awards recognising particular styles and approaches.
Bibi Smash Burger's Double Beef Smash Burger was named Best Smash Burger in the Balearic Islands.
Espinaler Formentera's Atenea was named Most Original Burger.
The organisers also awarded the Best Km0 Burger title to La Wagyū from BB Cocktail Bar in Menorca, recognising its use of local produce.
These additional awards give restaurants another opportunity to gain recognition even when they do not finish first in their island's main competition.
A Big Year for Formentera
Formentera's result is particularly notable because of Mama Carmen's consistency.
Winning one edition can establish a restaurant as a strong competitor. Winning three consecutive editions creates a very different kind of record.
Mama Carmen has now won Sa Millor Formentera in 2024, 2025 and 2026.
The latest victory confirms that La Cruising has successfully continued a winning streak that began with the restaurant's earlier competition entries.
Sa Millor 2027 Is Already Open
The 2026 competition has barely finished, but the next edition is already beginning.
Following the announcement of the winners on September 7, FanBurgerClub opened registrations for Sa Millor 2027.
Restaurants from Ibiza, Formentera, Mallorca and Menorca can already reserve a place for the fourth edition.
That means the competition is becoming an established fixture in the Balearic food calendar rather than a one-off event.
Where the 2026 Winners Are
For anyone looking to try this year's champions, the winning restaurants are spread across the Pityuses.
Maneki Burger's winning Torito Bravo Fusion can be found in Cala Llonga, while Mama Carmen's La Cruising represents Formentera.
Bibi Smash and Wabi Sabi also remain part of Ibiza's successful 2026 podium, giving burger fans several highly recognised options to explore.
The awards are therefore not simply a ranking. They also provide a snapshot of how diverse the burger scene has become across Ibiza and Formentera.
More Than a Burger Competition
Sa Millor has evolved into a showcase for contemporary casual dining in the Balearic Islands.
The competition encourages restaurants to create something specifically for the event, giving chefs an opportunity to experiment with flavours, cooking techniques and ingredients.
For customers, it turns the search for dinner into a competition of its own, with people able to taste the entries and participate in the voting.
For restaurants, a strong result can provide valuable visibility during the tourism season.
Ibiza Has a New Burger Champion
After three editions, Sa Millor 2026 has produced a new winner in Ibiza.
Maneki Burger has taken the title with Torito Bravo Fusion, while Bibi Smash and Wabi Sabi complete the island's top three.
Formentera, meanwhile, remains under the control of Mama Carmen, which has now won every edition of the competition on the island.
With more than 4,100 public votes and 51 participating restaurants across the Balearics, Sa Millor 2026 has confirmed that the humble burger has become a serious part of the islands' modern food culture.
And with registrations already open for 2027, the battle for next year's title has officially begun.
