BBC Radio 1 Dance X brought its 2026 Ibiza weekend to a spectacular close at [UNVRS] on Sunday, August 2, joining Carl Cox's acclaimed Sunday residency for a special night of house, techno and electronic music.

The event marked the final transmission of BBC Radio 1 Dance X's 2026 Ibiza series, following two earlier stops at Hï Ibiza and Ushuaïa Ibiza.

At [UNVRS], Carl Cox led the night alongside a specially curated selection of UK and international artists. The lineup featured Skepta on DJ duties, Syreeta B2B TSHA and Nakadia, bringing several different strands of contemporary electronic music together under one roof.

For Carl Cox, the event was another highlight of his second season at [UNVRS]. The legendary British DJ returned to the island for a weekly Sunday residency running from June 21 through October 4, with a lineup that has included names such as David Guetta, The Martinez Brothers, Richie Hawtin, Nicole Moudaber, Loco Dice, Joseph Capriati and Honey Dijon.

The BBC Radio 1 Dance X weekend began on Friday, July 31, with a takeover at Hï Ibiza led by Dom Dolla, before moving to Ushuaïa Ibiza for ANTS on Saturday, August 1. The final chapter then arrived at [UNVRS] with Carl Cox on Sunday night.

The Ibiza series is part of BBC Radio 1's long-running relationship with the island. The station has been making its annual pilgrimage to Ibiza since 1995, turning its summer broadcasts into one of the defining events of the island's electronic music calendar.

This year's wider Radio 1 Dance weekend also featured performances from Disclosure, Gorgon City, Jazzy and Josh Baker at 528 Ibiza, alongside Radio 1 presenters and DJs including Pete Tong, Danny Howard, Sarah Story, Arielle Free and Charlie Hedges.

The [UNVRS] edition also continued a long-running relationship between Carl Cox and BBC Radio 1. Cox has been a major contributor to the station's dance programming and the Essential Mix series over the years, making his annual Ibiza appearances a natural fit for the broadcaster's island takeover. Ibiza Spotlight notes that Cox has contributed more mixes to the Essential Mix series than anyone else since its launch in 1993.

For [UNVRS], meanwhile, the collaboration added another major broadcast moment to its second Ibiza season. The venue was voted the world's No.1 club in DJ Mag's Top 100 Clubs poll in 2026, while Carl Cox's residency has become one of its headline Sunday attractions.

With BBC Radio 1 Dance X bringing its Ibiza weekend to [UNVRS], Carl Cox once again found himself at the centre of one of the island's biggest electronic music moments of the summer.
