Dalt Vila to Host Two Dramatized Heritage Tours in Ibiza on 21 November

October 22, 2026

Ibiza's historic old town will welcome visitors to two dramatized heritage tours on Saturday, 21 November 2026, offering an opportunity to discover the island's history through theatrical scenes set among the streets of Dalt Vila.

Organised by Ibiza Town Council, the Spanish-language visits are scheduled for 10:00 and 12:00, with both tours departing from Portal de ses Taules, the historic gateway into the fortified old town. The programme uses performers and recreated historical scenes to bring aspects of Ibiza's past to life.

The activity forms part of the municipality's cultural programme, which encourages residents and visitors to explore the island's architectural and historical heritage beyond the summer season.

A Theatrical Journey Through Ibiza's History

Unlike a conventional guided walk, the dramatized visits introduce characters who recreate scenes connected with the city's past as participants move through Dalt Vila.

The format combines storytelling, performance and the historic surroundings, allowing visitors to experience the old town as more than a collection of monuments. Its streets and squares become part of the setting for scenes inspired by the city's history.

The November sessions will be conducted in Spanish. The same programme also lists another pair of visits for Saturday, 19 December, when the tours are scheduled to take place in Catalan.

Exploring Dalt Vila's Fortified Old Town

Dalt Vila rises above Ibiza's harbour and is one of the island's most recognisable historic landmarks. Its fortified walls, narrow streets and historic buildings reflect the different civilisations and periods that have shaped the city.

The Renaissance fortifications were developed between 1554 and 1585 and form part of the UNESCO World Heritage property known as Ibiza, Biodiversity and Culture. Within the walls, visitors can explore historic streets, religious buildings and architectural features that reveal the city's strategic importance over the centuries.

Portal de ses Taules, the entrance for the dramatized visits, provides a fitting starting point for an activity focused on the history of the walled town.
