Marcos Llorente Returns to Ibiza During International Break for a Lavish Meal at Jondal

23 de September de 2026

Marcos Llorente has returned to Ibiza for a few days of downtime, sharing a glimpse of his latest visit to the island with his followers.

The Atlético de Madrid star was pictured enjoying the final days of summer in Ibiza, including a lavish meal at Jondal featuring an impressive selection of food and wine.

The trip comes during the current international window, shortly after Llorente announced his retirement from the Spanish national team.

Back in Ibiza

Ibiza has once again become Llorente's choice for a few days away from football.

The Madrid-born footballer has already spent time on the island this summer, including a July visit following Spain's World Cup triumph.

This latest getaway comes just two days after Atlético Madrid's 2-1 victory over Real Madrid in the Madrid derby.

A break during the international window

Llorente is not involved with Spain during the current international window because he announced his international retirement on September 3.

The 31-year-old had been part of Spain's World Cup-winning squad in the summer and ended his international career with 27 appearances for the national team.

With no national-team duties on his schedule, the Atlético midfielder has been able to make the most of a few days away from the club's competitive calendar.

A visit to Jondal

During his time on the island, Llorente visited Jondal, one of Ibiza's well-known beachfront dining destinations in Cala Jondal.

Images shared from the meal showed a large selection of dishes from the restaurant, including Fritura a la Davilesca and Cigala con peluca.

The meal was accompanied by bottles from some particularly sought-after producers.

A bottle of Salon 2013

Among the bottles shown was Salon Cuvée 'S' Le Mesnil Blanc de Blancs Brut 2013.

The Champagne Salon vintage is a prestigious Chardonnay champagne from Le Mesnil-sur-Oger in Champagne, France.

The 2013 bottle has appeared on specialist wine lists and retailers at prices around or above €1,200, although the price of a particular bottle can vary substantially depending on where it is sold.

The available information does not establish the exact price charged by Jondal for the bottle shown in Llorente's posts.

A rare Jura red

Another bottle highlighted from the meal was Domaine des Murmures Les Rouges 2021.

The wine comes from the Jura region of France and is produced by winemaker Emmanuel Lançon.

Current specialist listings place the 2021 vintage in the several-hundred-euro range, although prices vary between retailers, markets and restaurants.

Again, the publicly available images do not establish the exact amount paid at Jondal.

More than just the wine

The meal was not limited to the bottles shown in the images.

Llorente's posts featured a range of dishes from Jondal, adding to the impression of a substantial lunch or dining experience rather than a quick stop.

The restaurant's setting in Cala Jondal also provided the backdrop for the footballer's latest Ibiza escape.

From World Cup celebrations to another Ibiza visit

Llorente has already been closely associated with Ibiza this summer.

After Spain won the 2026 World Cup, he returned to the island with fellow Spain international Ferran Torres, with the two photographed together at Jondal during their post-tournament celebrations.

That earlier visit also attracted attention because of the expensive wine selected by the footballers.

Llorente's latest trip shows that Ibiza remains one of his preferred destinations when he has time away from football.

A successful start to the season

The Ibiza break comes after a busy opening period for Atlético Madrid.

Llorente has featured regularly for Diego Simeone's side during the opening weeks of the campaign and has played in several different positions.

Atlético's official profile lists him as a midfielder but describes him as a versatile player capable of operating as a defensive pivot, wing-back, interior midfielder or even further forward.

His most recent appearance before travelling to Ibiza came in the Madrid derby on September 20, when Atlético defeated Real Madrid 2-1.

A familiar summer destination

Llorente is no stranger to Ibiza.

The island has become a recurring destination for the footballer, particularly during periods when the demands of the club and international calendar allow him some freedom.

His latest visit also comes at a quieter point in the sporting calendar, with the current international fixtures taking place without him following his decision to end his Spain career.

Enjoying the final days of summer

September 22 was the final full day of astronomical summer, with autumn beginning in the early hours of September 23.

Llorente was able to enjoy Ibiza's beaches and warm weather as the island moved into the final days of the summer season.

His social-media posts showed a relaxed side to the footballer's life away from the pitch, centred around food, wine and the island's coastline.

Another celebrity visit to Ibiza

Llorente's return is part of the continuing stream of high-profile sporting and entertainment figures visiting Ibiza throughout the season.

For the Atlético player, however, the island appears to be more than a one-off summer stop.

After visiting following Spain's World Cup victory and now returning again during the September international window, Ibiza has once again provided Llorente with a place to disconnect from the football calendar.

Back to football soon

The break will be relatively short.

Atlético Madrid's domestic and European schedule continues after the international window, meaning Llorente will soon return to preparations with the club.

For now, though, the footballer has taken advantage of a few days away to enjoy one more taste of Ibiza summer.
