Several streets in Ibiza Town will be closed to vehicles and pedestrians on Saturday, 7 November 2026, as the city hosts the Cursa Es Baluards. The restrictions will begin at 16:00 and are expected to remain in place until approximately 18:30, when the sporting event is scheduled to finish.
The Ayuntamiento de Eivissa has announced the temporary traffic measures to allow runners to complete the race through the historic centre, including sections of Dalt Vila, its historic walls and several of the city's emblematic streets.
The restrictions will affect both vehicle traffic and pedestrian access along the race route while participants are circulating. Residents and visitors are advised to plan their journeys in advance and allow extra time when travelling through the affected areas.
Which streets will be affected?
According to the published traffic notice, the route and associated restrictions will cover the following streets and public spaces:
The final approach to the finish line will pass along Carrer de Narcís Puget, through the Simó Pouet passageway, also known as the tunnel, and along Carrer de Jaume I and Carrer del Comte Rosselló before reaching Passeig de Vara de Rey.
When will the restrictions apply?
The Ayuntamiento has scheduled the restrictions to begin at 16:00 on Saturday and continue until the race has finished, expected at approximately 18:30.
Access restrictions will apply while runners are using the relevant sections of the route. Both motorists and pedestrians should follow instructions from event staff and local authorities.
The municipality has asked residents and visitors for their understanding and cooperation, recommending that journeys be planned ahead to avoid disruption.
Cursa Es Baluards returns to Ibiza's historic centre
The Cursa Es Baluards combines popular running with the historic setting of Dalt Vila. The main event covers approximately 5.5 kilometres, with participants completing two laps of a circuit starting and finishing at Passeig de Vara de Rey.
The programme also includes a Mini Cursa for younger participants, with distances adapted to different age groups.
According to the event schedule, the younger categories begin at 16:00, followed by the Sub14 and Sub16 races at 16:15. The main race is scheduled to start at 16:30.
The event is organised by Club Atletisme Pitiús in collaboration with the Ayuntamiento de Eivissa, with proceeds from the main race benefiting AEMIF.
With temporary restrictions affecting several central streets and historic areas, residents and visitors are encouraged to take the traffic measures into account when planning their movements around Ibiza Town on Saturday afternoon.
