Santa Eulària des Riu is launching a new autumn edition of its free Ocupa’t: Conecta con lo digital programme, offering residents the opportunity to improve their digital skills for both everyday life and the workplace.

Organised through the municipality's Department of Employment, Club de Feina and the Municipal Training School, the programme will run from September 25 to October 30 and will offer six different workshops across two levels.

Six Free Workshops Across Two Levels

Each session will last 90 minutes and places are limited.

The basic level is aimed particularly at people who are less familiar with digital technology and want to gain greater independence when using computers, smartphones and the internet. These sessions will take place on Fridays from 12:30pm to 2pm.

The advanced level will run from 5pm to 6:30pm and is aimed at participants who already have some digital knowledge and want to develop practical skills related to online administration, cybersecurity and artificial intelligence.

Basic Level: From Computers to Artificial Intelligence

The first basic workshop, "Primeros pasos digitales", will introduce essential computer and mobile-phone skills, including using a mouse or touchscreen, identifying icons and working with commonly used applications.

"Internet útil: Buscar, Enviar y Comunicar" will focus on using the internet and email for everyday tasks and communications.

The third basic workshop, "IA para el día a día", will provide an introduction to artificial intelligence and its practical uses in daily life.

Advanced Level: Digital Identity, Online Safety and AI

The advanced programme begins with "Tu identidad digital: Certificado digital", explaining how to request, install and use a digital certificate for official procedures and electronic administration.

"Navegar seguro: evita fraudes y engaños" will focus on internet security, including recognising scams, protecting devices and improving the security of personal information and passwords.

The final workshop, "La IA como aliada profesional", will look at practical applications of artificial intelligence for work and academic tasks.

Each Workshop Is Offered Twice

To make the programme easier to attend, each of the six workshops will be held on two separate dates.

"Primeros pasos digitales" and "Tu identidad digital: Certificado digital" will take place on September 25 and October 16.

"Internet útil: Buscar, Enviar y Comunicar" and "Navegar seguro: evita fraudes y engaños" are scheduled for October 2 and October 23.

"IA para el día a día" and "La IA como aliada profesional" will be offered on October 9 and October 30.

Special Requirement for the Advanced AI Workshop

Participants attending "La IA como aliada profesional" will need to bring an operational Gmail account and know the account password in order to complete the practical exercises.

The organisers recommend using a different Gmail account from the one normally used for personal activities during the workshop.

Held at the Municipal Training School

The workshops will take place at the Escola Municipal de Formació in Santa Eulària des Riu.

The current Club de Feina listings give the address as Carrer Rafael Sáinz de la Cuesta, Santa Eulària des Riu.

The Ocupa’t workshops are free, but places are limited and prior registration is required.
