Gastro Ibiza and Formentera Fair Returns With Local Food, Wine and Beer This Weekend

17 de September de 2026

The Gastro Ibiza and Formentera Food Fair returns to the island this weekend, bringing restaurants, producers, chefs, local wines and traditional Pitiusan ingredients together at the Ibiza Fairgrounds.

The fourth edition will take place on Friday, September 18, and Saturday, September 19, at the Recinto Ferial de Ibiza, where it will once again be held alongside the 19th Ibiza Beer Fair.

The combined event will run from 19:00 to 02:00 on both evenings. Admission costs €6 and includes three beers.

A Celebration of Pitiusan Cuisine

The Gastro Ibiza and Formentera Fair is designed to showcase the variety of food produced and served across Ibiza and Formentera, with a particular focus on local ingredients.

The 2026 edition brings together restaurants, food projects, agricultural producers and other businesses, with visitors able to sample different dishes throughout the two-day event.

The organizers say the fair is intended to highlight local products and the gastronomic sector of the Pitiusas beyond the main summer season.

Five Chefs Present “Cómete las islas”

One of the main events on Friday will be “Cómete las islas,” a gastronomic presentation hosted by food creator Celeste de la Banda.

The session begins at 20:00 and will bring together five chefs from Ibiza and Formentera:

  • Catalina Riera and Nuria Riera of Ca n'Alfredo

  • David Reartes of Dúo and Retro

  • Óscar Molina of La Gaia

  • Daniel Figueroa of Ficus

  • Luciano D'Ambrosio of Trattoria del Mar and Bistró del Mar

Each chef will present one of their dishes, explain its inspiration and connection with local produce, and finish or plate the dish in front of the audience. The organizers describe the format as a combination of conversation, cooking and food-and-drink pairings rather than a conventional cooking demonstration.

Traditional Dishes Meet Contemporary Cooking

Among the dishes planned for the event is a traditional guisat de peix from Ca n'Alfredo.

David Reartes will present a red scorpionfish sashimi accompanied by local wine, olive oil and traditional xeixa and carob breads.

Daniel Figueroa will bring a dish combining Ibiza's traditional recipe book and local produce with Latin American influences.

Luciano D'Ambrosio will prepare a warm cream of Ibizan potatoes with crispy artichoke and red prawn.

The wider program also includes Óscar Molina, whose participation adds a further contemporary interpretation of island produce to the showcase.

Twelve Restaurants and Food Projects

Alongside the main program, restaurants, producers and food businesses will operate stands throughout the fair.

The 2026 participants include La Gula, La Santería, S'Espardell, Sa Trugeta, 97 12º, Ficus, Camàlic, Can Mario, Jamones Los Andaluces and other local food projects.

Among the dishes and products on offer will be squid and sobrasada croquettes, a pulled pork sandwich, goat's cheese and honey ice cream, porc negre burgers and dishes made with Ibiza red potatoes.

The fair will also feature products from local agricultural and livestock cooperatives, including Carn & Coop and Agroeivissa.

Local Wines and Olive Oils

Wine and olive oil are also central to this year's program.

Wines from Can Rich and Ibizkus will be available, alongside olive oils from Joan Benet, Can Miquel Guasch and Ca na Platera.

The organizers are placing particular emphasis on local agricultural products as part of the wider aim of connecting visitors with Ibiza and Formentera's primary sector.

A New Charity Stand

For the first time, Gastro Ibiza will also feature a charity stand operated by Fundación Conciencia.

The Ibiza-based organization works on social and environmental projects and provides support to people and families experiencing vulnerable circumstances.

Its participation adds a community-focused element to this year's food fair.

The Ibiza Beer Fair Returns Alongside It

The Gastro Ibiza and Formentera Fair will once again share the Recinto Ferial with the Ibiza Beer Fair.

The 19th edition of the beer event is expected to feature more than 200 national and international beer references.

The two events will occupy separate areas of the fairground while allowing visitors to move between the food and beer sections.

Organizers say the combined fairs attract around 10,000 people each year, although this is an annual attendance figure cited by the organizers rather than a forecast for the 2026 edition.

Music and Opening Night

The official opening takes place on Friday, September 18, with a performance by Sa Colla de sa Bodega and actor David Pomar serving as host.

Music will continue throughout the two-day event, with DJs including Miguel Vera, Sr. Cardona, Toni Torres and Petit y Vázquez from La Movida Ibiza scheduled to perform.

With local restaurants, producers, wines, olive oils, beer, live music and cooking demonstrations, the fourth Gastro Ibiza and Formentera Fair offers a concentrated showcase of the food and drink culture of Ibiza and Formentera on September 18 and 19.
