30 October 2026

Ibiza's HIC Summit concludes its three-day programme on Friday with discussions about tourism, education, sustainability and community wellbeing. Meanwhile, official mourning has affected several municipal events, Santa Eulària has postponed its popular squid gastronomic celebrations, and special cemetery arrangements are in place ahead of All Saints’ Day.

Friday, October 30, brings an important programme of conferences and public activities to Ibiza, alongside practical announcements for residents and visitors.

One of the main events is the final day of HIC Summit Ibiza 2026, which brings together representatives from tourism, education, environmental organisations and public institutions to discuss the island's future.

There are also changes to the weekend calendar following the three days of official mourning declared in Spain after the railway accident in Urda, Toledo.

Fireta des Calamar and X Fira des Calamar postponed

The Ajuntament de Santa Eulària des Riu has postponed two gastronomic events originally scheduled for October 30 and 31.

The Fireta des Calamar was planned for Friday afternoon in Sant Carles de Peralta, with tapas and live music. The tenth edition of the X Fira Gastronòmica des Calamar was scheduled for Saturday, October 31.

Both events have been postponed following the declaration of national mourning. The council has indicated that replacement dates will be announced later.

Visitors should not travel to Sant Carles expecting these two events to take place on their original dates.

Three days of official mourning in Spain

Spain's Government declared three days of official mourning following the fatal railway accident in Urda, Toledo.

The mourning period runs from midnight on Wednesday, October 28, until midnight on Saturday, October 31.

The announcement has resulted in the suspension or postponement of several municipal cultural and festive activities across Ibiza and Formentera.

Private venues and independent organisers have separate arrangements. Visitors should check directly with each organiser for the latest information.

Ibiza Town Council has extended opening hours at both the Cementeri Vell and Cementeri Nou for the period surrounding All Saints' Day and All Souls' Day.

The cemeteries are scheduled to remain open continuously from 09:00 to 18:00 on Friday, October 30, through November 2.

Upcoming road restrictions for the European Triathlon Cup

Residents and visitors travelling between Ibiza Town and Santa Eulària should also be aware of temporary traffic restrictions expected on Sunday, November 1.

The European Triathlon Cup will take place in Santa Eulària, affecting the Eivissa–Santa Eulària route, particularly the section between the junction with the Sant Joan road and the town.
