GastroIbz Brings Traditional and Contemporary Pitiusan Cuisine to Ibiza

September 19, 2026

The flavours of Ibiza and Formentera are taking centre stage at the Recinto Ferial de Ibiza this weekend, where the fourth edition of GastroIbz is bringing together local cuisine, producers, chefs, wines and island-grown ingredients.

The two-day fair, held on September 18 and 19 alongside the 19th Ibiza Beer Fair, combines traditional recipes with contemporary interpretations of Pitiusan cuisine. The event opened on Friday and continues today, Saturday, from 19:00 to 02:00.

A celebration of Ibiza and Formentera cuisine

GastroIbz is designed to showcase the gastronomic identity of the Pitiusas while highlighting the people and businesses behind the food.

Alongside restaurants and culinary projects, the fair places particular attention on local products, including Ibiza wines, olive oils, meat, vegetables and other ingredients produced across the islands.

The organisers have also placed an emphasis on connecting the finished dish with the producers who grow, make and process the ingredients behind it.

“Cómete las islas” puts local cuisine on stage

One of the main features of the opening evening was “Cómete las islas”, a culinary journey hosted by gastronomic content creator Celeste de la Banda.

The presentation brought together four different approaches to Pitiusan cooking.

Catalina and Nuria Riera of Ca n’Alfredo presented a traditional guisat de peix, while David Reartes of Dúo and RE•TRO offered a contemporary interpretation of rotja in sashimi form.

Daniel Figueroa of Ficus combined local ingredients with Latin American influences, reflecting the Mediterranean and international character of his cooking.

The final dish came from Luciano D’Ambrosio of Trattoria del Mar and Bistró del Mar, who combined Ibiza ingredients with Italian influences in a warm cream of Ibizan potato with artichoke and local cigala.

The dishes were paired with wines and olive oils from Ibiza and Formentera, reinforcing the event’s focus on the relationship between cuisine and local production.

From traditional recipes to new ideas

The fair’s food offering reflects the changing face of Ibiza’s culinary scene, where traditional island recipes are being presented alongside more contemporary creations.

Among the dishes featured this year are squid croquettes with sobrasada, a cheesecake inspired by flaó, pulled pork sandwiches, goat cheese and honey ice cream, porc negre burgers and chips made with red potatoes from Ibiza.

Other participating businesses include Ficus, La Gula, La Santería, S’Espardell, Sa Trugeta, 97 12º, Can Mario, Camàlic, Jamones Los Andaluces, Carn & Coop, Agroeivissa, Salewski Artesanos and Spherium Group.

Local wines and olive oils take a leading role

The 2026 edition also places a strong focus on products from the islands’ vineyards and olive groves.

Wines from Can Rich and Ibizkus are part of the programme, while olive oils from producers including Joan Benet, Can Miquel Guasch and Ca na Platera represent production from Ibiza and Formentera.

This focus comes at an important point in the agricultural calendar, following the 2026 grape harvest and ahead of the olive harvest.

A new space for social initiatives

GastroIbz has also introduced a charitable element this year with a stand from Fundación Conciencia.

The organisation uses the space to highlight its work supporting people and families experiencing vulnerability in Ibiza.

GastroIbz joins the Ibiza Beer Fair

The food fair is once again taking place alongside the 19th Ibiza Beer Fair, creating a combined event centred on gastronomy, drinks and live entertainment.

More than 200 national and international beer references are being presented, including selections from countries such as Belgium, Germany, the United States, Japan and Jamaica.

The beer fair also includes more than 20 alcohol-free options, while an Ibiza-produced beer made in Santa Eulària is making its first appearance at the event.

Saturday programme in Ibiza

The final day of GastroIbz and the Ibiza Beer Fair takes place on Saturday, September 19, at the Recinto Ferial de Ibiza.

The official programme runs from 19:00 until 02:00, with DJ Toni Torres scheduled from 19:00 and DJ Petit y Vázquez from La Movida Ibiza from 23:00.

The combined event is expected to attract around 10,000 residents and visitors across the two days, based on attendance levels associated with previous editions.
