Coca-Cola Launches Limited-Edition Golden Can Celebrating Spain’s 2026 World Cup Victory

Spain’s FIFA World Cup triumph has been turned into a limited-edition Coca-Cola collectible in India, with the beverage company partnering with quick-commerce platform Zepto to offer a special golden can commemorating the national team’s historic victory.
The limited-edition release forms part of Coca-Cola India’s “Own a Piece of History” campaign and is being offered to consumers in Delhi/NCR.
Spain’s World Cup Victory Inspires the Collectible
Spain became FIFA World Cup champions on 19 July 2026 after defeating Argentina 1-0 following extra time in the final at New York New Jersey Stadium.
Ferran Torres scored the decisive goal in the 106th minute, giving Spain its second men’s FIFA World Cup title after its 2010 triumph. FIFA also confirmed that Spain became the first country to simultaneously hold both the men’s and women’s FIFA World Cup titles.
The Golden Coca-Cola Can
The commemorative can has been designed in a gold finish inspired by the FIFA World Cup Trophy. It features the date of Spain’s victory alongside the iconic World Cup trophy, turning the packaging into a football-themed keepsake.
Coca-Cola describes the product as a limited-edition memento designed to allow fans to hold on to a physical reminder of Spain’s championship.
The same Spanish victory design has also been produced for the Spanish market, where Coca-Cola introduced gold-effect cans following the national team’s victory. The cans were manufactured at Crown’s Valencia plant before being filled and distributed across Spain.
Zepto Pre-Booking in Delhi/NCR
Coca-Cola India has partnered with Zepto for the campaign’s pre-booking operation in Delhi/NCR.
According to Coca-Cola India, pre-booking for the limited-edition cans was available exclusively through Zepto. The cans are also being made available for purchase through Blinkit across the Delhi/NCR market.
Coca-Cola said the response had generated strong demand, describing pre-orders as having been particularly high since the campaign launched. That description comes from the company and is not accompanied by a published sales figure.
A Football Collectible Rather Than a Standard Soft Drink Release
The campaign positions the can as a piece of sports memorabilia rather than simply another seasonal Coca-Cola package.
Its design combines Coca-Cola branding with the FIFA World Cup Trophy and the date of Spain’s victory, 19 July 2026. The concept allows the company to connect an immediately recognisable sporting moment with a physical product that fans can keep.
Coca-Cola’s Long FIFA Connection
Coca-Cola has been closely associated with the FIFA World Cup for decades. FIFA says its formal association with Coca-Cola dates back to 1974, while the company became an official FIFA World Cup sponsor in 1978.
The partnership also includes the FIFA World Cup Trophy Tour by Coca-Cola, which in 2026 brought the original World Cup Trophy to 30 member associations through 75 stops.
In January, the Trophy Tour returned to India with public events in Delhi and Guwahati, marking the trophy’s first return to the country in almost 12 years.
The Trophy Tour Reached India Before the Tournament
The original FIFA World Cup Trophy visited Delhi and Guwahati in January as part of the 2026 Coca-Cola Trophy Tour.
FIFA reported that more than 15,000 people attended the public event in Delhi, where fans were given the opportunity to see and photograph the original trophy.
The tour formed part of Coca-Cola’s wider build-up to the 2026 World Cup, before Spain ultimately lifted the trophy in July.
A Keepsake Linked to a Historic Final
The golden can arrives after a World Cup final that gave Spain its second men’s world title.
For Coca-Cola India, the product provides a way of extending that moment beyond the tournament itself, combining the date of the final, the World Cup Trophy and the championship result into a commemorative package.
The limited-edition cans are currently associated with the Delhi/NCR market in India rather than being announced as a Spain-wide retail collaboration with Zepto.
