These Are the Best Burgers in Ibiza and Formentera for 2026
Published on September 09, 2026 at 06:51 AM
The search for the best burger in Ibiza and Formentera has produced its latest winners, with the results of Sa Millor 2026 officially announced this week.
The third edition of the Balearic burger competition involved 51 restaurants across Ibiza, Formentera, Mallorca and Menorca and attracted more than 4,100 public votes.
On Ibiza, Maneki Burger in Cala Llonga took first place with its Torito Bravo Fusión.
On Formentera, Mama Carmen retained its crown with La Cruising, becoming the first restaurant to win the island competition three times.
Maneki Burger takes the Ibiza title
There is a new winner on Ibiza.
Maneki Burger claimed first place with Torito Bravo Fusión, a burger inspired by a recipe that originated with oxtail prepared in a Josper oven at one of the restaurant team's earlier projects.
The restaurant explains that the oxtail dish proved particularly popular and eventually inspired the team to combine it with other ingredients and turn the idea into a signature burger.
The final creation includes stewed oxtail, a beef smash, truffle mayonnaise, Café de Paris sauce, fried onion, pickles, foie, fried green pepper and roasted bone marrow.
The combination helped Maneki reach the top of the Ibiza ranking in this year's competition.
Bibi Smash takes second place and wins the best smash burger award
Second place in Ibiza went to Bibi Smash Burger with its Double Beef Smash Burger.
The burger also received the award for Best Smash Burger in the Balearic Islands for 2026.
The restaurant's competition entry is described as being made in-house from the bun through to the American-style sauce, with an emphasis on a crisp exterior and juicy beef.
The double recognition makes Bibi Smash one of the biggest success stories of the Ibiza edition.
Wabi Sabi completes the Ibiza podium
Third place went to Wabi Sabi Ibiza with its Smash Burger de Ternera.
Based in the Santa Eulària area, Wabi Sabi describes its culinary concept as a combination of Italian and Ecuadorian influences, extending from smash burgers to sushi and other creative dishes.
Its third-place finish puts the restaurant among Ibiza's three highest-ranked burgers in Sa Millor 2026.
The final Ibiza podium is:
🥇 Maneki Burger, Torito Bravo Fusión
🥈 Bibi Smash Burger, Double Beef Smash Burger
🥉 Wabi Sabi Ibiza, Smash Burger de Ternera
Mama Carmen makes Formentera history
Formentera's result tells a very different story.
There is no new champion at the top because Mama Carmen has done it again.
The restaurant won the Formentera title with La Cruising, making 2026 its third consecutive Sa Millor victory.
Mama Carmen previously won in 2024 and 2025, meaning the restaurant has now won every Formentera edition of the competition since it began.
That gives Mama Carmen a perfect three-out-of-three record.
What is inside La Cruising?
Mama Carmen's winning burger combines 180 grams of aged beef with smoked white cheddar, marinated pork belly, homemade pickles and a sauce inspired by Big Mac-style flavours.
The result is designed to be rich and indulgent, combining aged beef with smoked cheese, pork belly, acidity from the pickles and a familiar burger-style sauce.
That recipe was enough to keep Mama Carmen at the top of Formentera's ranking for another year.
Espinaler Formentera also takes a major award
Mama Carmen was not the only Formentera restaurant to receive major recognition.
Espinaler Formentera won the Balearic award for the Most Original Burger with its Atenea.
The burger includes dry-aged beef, Blue Stilton cheese with quince, caramelised onion and homemade pickles, served in a Roma-style bun.
The award recognises creativity rather than the main island ranking and was introduced as a new special category for the 2026 edition.
How Sa Millor 2026 was judged
The final result combines the opinions of the public and a professional jury.
Public voting represented 30 percent of the final score, while the professional jury accounted for the remaining 70 percent after tasting and evaluating the finalist burgers.
More than 4,100 public votes were recorded during the 2026 edition, giving customers a significant role while keeping the professional assessment as the larger component of the final ranking.
51 restaurants competed across the Balearic Islands
Sa Millor has developed beyond an Ibiza-only competition.
The 2026 edition brought together 51 participating restaurants across all four main islands of the Balearics: Ibiza, Formentera, Mallorca and Menorca.
Each island had its own winner, while several additional categories recognised specific styles and creative approaches across the entire region.
The Ibiza and Formentera contenders
The Pityusic Islands were represented by a broad selection of restaurants.
On Ibiza, participating businesses included Maneki Burger, Bibi Smash Burger, Camelot Burger Ibiza, Restaurante Grill Sa Brasa, The Booo Cala de Bou, Vinyl Burger Ibiza, Good Life Ibiza and Wabi Sabi Ibiza.
Formentera's participants included Mama Carmen, Espinaler Formentera, Fonda La Savina, Sa Panxa and Can Pasqual.
The entries ranged from traditional beef burgers and smash burgers to more experimental recipes incorporating distinctive ingredients.
Three special awards highlight different burger styles
The main island titles were not the only prizes awarded in 2026.
Bibi Smash Burger received the Best Smash Burger in the Balearic Islands award for its Double Beef Smash Burger.
Espinaler Formentera won Most Original Burger for Atenea.
The Best Km.0 Burger title went to BB Cocktail Bar in Menorca for La Wagyū, which uses Wagyu beef raised on the island.
The additional categories give restaurants another route to recognition and place greater emphasis on technique, originality and local ingredients.
Why the results matter for Ibiza's food scene
The popularity of Sa Millor reflects the changing character of casual dining across the islands.
Burgers have moved well beyond the basic fast-food model, with restaurants increasingly experimenting with aged beef, smash cooking techniques, homemade sauces, locally sourced produce and combinations inspired by different culinary traditions.
In Ibiza, that development mirrors the island's wider food scene, which has become increasingly diverse alongside its established Mediterranean cuisine.
The competition also gives smaller or specialist restaurants an opportunity to attract attention based on a specific dish.
The public has become part of the competition
One of Sa Millor's distinguishing features is the role played by diners themselves.
People can visit participating restaurants, try the special competition burgers and submit their votes.
Although the public score accounts for 30 percent of the overall result, more than 4,100 votes demonstrate how much interest the competition has generated among customers.
The format effectively turns thousands of diners into participants in the judging process.
A perfect record for Mama Carmen
Formentera's result is perhaps the most remarkable statistic of the 2026 competition.
Mama Carmen has now won three titles from three editions.
That consistency makes the restaurant the defining name in the history of Sa Millor on Formentera so far.
La Cruising has now joined the restaurant's previous winning entries, reinforcing Mama Carmen's position as the island's benchmark in the competition.
Sa Millor 2027 is already underway
The 2026 results have barely been announced, but the next edition is already being prepared.
Early registration for Sa Millor 2027 opened on September 1, ahead of the wider announcement of the 2026 winners.
Restaurants from Ibiza, Formentera, Mallorca and Menorca can already reserve places for the fourth edition, with early-bird registrations available to participating restaurants.
That early start underlines how quickly the competition has developed from a new initiative into a recurring event on the Balearic food calendar.
Ibiza has a new winner, Formentera keeps its champion
Sa Millor 2026 has produced a changing picture across the Pityusic Islands.
Ibiza has a new champion in Maneki Burger, whose Torito Bravo Fusión took first place in Cala Llonga.
Bibi Smash and Wabi Sabi completed the Ibiza podium, with Bibi also taking the Balearic award for Best Smash Burger.
In Formentera, meanwhile, Mama Carmen made history by winning for a third consecutive year, while Espinaler added another award for the island with its Most Original Burger title.
With 51 restaurants, more than 4,100 public votes and entries spanning all four islands, Sa Millor 2026 has shown just how seriously the Balearics are taking their burger culture.
And the competition for 2027 has already begun.
