Club Nàutic Sant Antoni returned from Alicante with four medals after a strong performance at the 2026 Spanish Sea Kayak Championship, finishing the national competition with one gold, two silver and one bronze.

The championship took place on September 12 and 13 in waters off Alicante and was organised by the Real Club de Regatas de Alicante. CN Sant Antoni travelled with 14 paddlers competing across Infantil, Cadete, Júnior, Sénior and Veterano categories.

Júlia Roselló Takes Gold and Bronze

The standout result for the Ibiza club came from Júlia Roselló.

Roselló became Spanish champion in the SS1 Women's Infantil A category, taking the gold medal in the individual event.

She also added a bronze medal in SS2 Mixed Infantil A, racing alongside Marc Tur.

The double medal marked an especially successful national championship for the young paddler.

Two Silver Medals for Es Nàutic

The club's medal tally was completed by two silver medals.

Gabriela Mendes and Laura Rubio finished second in SS2 Women's Cadete, securing the silver medal in their category.

Neus Mateu also claimed silver in SS1 Women's Veterana 55-59.

Together, the four medals gave CN Sant Antoni a strong presence across three different age groups.

Strong Finishes Across the Team

Several other CN Sant Antoni crews finished inside the top positions despite narrowly missing out on the podium.

Facundo González and Roy Kikozashvili placed sixth in SS2 Men's Júnior.

Izan Pascual and Liam López finished 11th in SS2 Men's Cadete, while Daniel Sánchez took 13th place in SS1 Men's Sénior.

The club's 14-athlete delegation consisted of two veterans, one senior, two juniors, five cadets and four infant paddlers.

Different Distances for Each Category

The Spanish Sea Kayak Championship tested competitors over different distances depending on their age category.

Infantil races covered 3,000 metres, while cadets competed over 6,000 metres. The remaining categories faced courses of 15,000 metres.

For the Ibiza paddlers, the championship also represented a change from the flat-water sprint and track disciplines in which they normally train, with the competition taking place in open sea conditions.

A Successful National Championship

The four-medal haul continues a strong year for the paddlers of Club Nàutic Sant Antoni, whose athletes have already produced several notable results in national canoeing competitions during 2026.

The Alicante championship provided another opportunity for the club's younger paddlers to compete against some of Spain's leading specialists in sea kayak.

Next Stop: Palma

The CNSA paddling section will now turn its attention to the Copa Balear de Otoño-Trofeo Ciutat de Palma.

The event is scheduled to take place next weekend at Parc de la Mar in Palma and will bring the club's 2026 competition programme towards its conclusion.

For Es Nàutic, the Alicante weekend ends with four national medals, highlighted by Júlia Roselló's Spanish title and a strong overall showing across multiple age categories.
