Ibiza Gran Hotel has introduced a new 48-hour Salt Experience, bringing together wellness, gastronomy and one of Ibiza’s most distinctive natural resources: salt.

The experience combines a stay in one of the hotel’s Deluxe Suites with a journey through the Ses Salines area, a salt-inspired spa treatment, a cocktail masterclass and dinner at La Gaia by Óscar Molina, the hotel’s Michelin-starred restaurant.

The new experience has been presented as a way to explore a quieter side of Ibiza while combining time at the hotel with an introduction to the island’s salt heritage.

Discovering Ibiza through salt

A central part of the experience is the Ibiza Salt Journey, an itinerary around the Ses Salines area focused on the history and importance of salt in Ibiza.

The salt pans of southern Ibiza form part of one of the island’s most distinctive landscapes and have played an important role in its history and economy.

The experience brings that heritage into the hotel through a combination of outdoor exploration, wellness and gastronomy.

A stay in the Deluxe Suites

The experience begins with accommodation in the Ibiza Gran Hotel’s Deluxe Suites.

According to the hotel, the suites were recently renovated by interior designer Sandra Tarruella and are located on the property's fifth floor.

The design uses natural materials and light, with the suites intended to provide a private and tranquil setting during the stay.

Salt-inspired spa treatment

The programme continues at the hotel's Open Spa, which currently offers a hydrotherapy circuit alongside a range of treatments and wellness facilities.

As part of the Salt Experience, guests receive the Salt Exfoliating Contour, a 50-minute treatment incorporating sea salt together with lime, ginger, coconut, bergamot and sweet almond oils.

The hotel's Open Spa includes heated hydromassage pools, waterfalls, a contrast path, ice lounge, hammam, sauna, aroma showers and a relaxation area.

A cocktail masterclass at MUSA

The salt theme continues at MUSA, the hotel's cocktail space.

Guests take part in an approximately one-hour masterclass led by Head Bartender Dani Martínez, during which they create and taste a signature cocktail featuring salt as a principal ingredient.

The experience adds a more interactive element to the programme while continuing its focus on one of Ibiza's traditional natural products.

Breakfast at Ibiza Gran Hotel

Each morning of the stay includes The Grand Breakfast, the hotel's breakfast offering.

The programme is designed to make the hotel itself part of the experience, rather than simply providing accommodation between the different activities.

Dinner at Michelin-starred La Gaia

The final gastronomic element takes place at La Gaia by Óscar Molina.

La Gaia currently holds one Michelin star and two Repsol Suns, with chef Óscar Molina leading the restaurant's culinary offering. The restaurant describes its cuisine as combining creativity with local produce and Mediterranean influences.

The dinner provides the final part of the Salt Experience, bringing together the hotel's focus on Ibiza's landscape, local ingredients and contemporary gastronomy.
