Global Underground is bringing its 30th anniversary celebrations to Ibiza with a major electronic music event at 528 Ibiza on Thursday 1 October 2026.

The one-night event will bring together five artists associated with the Global Underground label and its long-running City Series, moving from an open-air Garden session in the afternoon into the 528 Club later in the night.

A second event at Café del Mar on Friday 2 October has also been announced as part of the wider Ibiza celebration, although details of that date are currently less extensively documented in the official venue listings.

Global Underground arrives at 528 Ibiza

The main event takes place at 528 Ibiza on Thursday 1 October.

The official 528 programme lists the event from 17:00 until 04:00, with the music divided between the venue's outdoor Garden and indoor Club spaces.

The Garden programme runs from 16:00 to 23:00 and features Deep Dish and Guy J.

From 23:00, the event moves into the Club, where Dave Seaman, James Zabiela and Patrice Bäumel will take over.

Deep Dish and Guy J open the night

Deep Dish will headline the outdoor Garden alongside Guy J.

The American-Iranian duo of Dubfire and Sharam have a long association with Global Underground and have recently returned to the label's catalogue with #GU49 Dublin.

Guy J is also part of the current Global Underground story, having featured on #GU48 Córdoba.

Their appearance at 528 will provide the opening stage of the event before the programme moves indoors later in the evening.

At 23:00, the event moves to the 528 Club.

Dave Seaman, James Zabiela and Patrice Bäumel will continue the programme through the early hours.

Seaman has one of the longest connections to the Global Underground series, having contributed several City Series albums over the years.

Bäumel previously appeared on the series with #GU42 Berlin, while Zabiela has also been closely associated with the label and its electronic music catalogue.

The three artists will take the event from the open-air Garden into the indoor Club environment.

A 30-year Global Underground story

Global Underground launched in November 1996 with Tony de Vit's Tel Aviv mix.

Over the following three decades, the label developed its City Series around DJ mixes connected to locations around the world, including Ibiza, Berlin, New York, Buenos Aires and Cape Town.

The series became particularly associated with progressive house and electronic music, while its distinctive artwork, photography and city-based concept became an important part of the label's identity.

Global Underground says its history now includes hundreds of thousands of fans who have bought or streamed its albums, attended its events and followed the label's development.

The 528 Ibiza event

The 1 October event will use several areas of 528 Ibiza.

The Garden will host Deep Dish and Guy J before the programme moves inside at 23:00.

The official ticket information confirms that general admission includes access to both the Garden and Club.

The event is scheduled to finish at 04:00.

Tickets are currently listed in several categories, including general admission and a hospitality option for entry before 23:00.

A second date at Café del Mar

The wider announcement also includes a second event on Friday 2 October at Café del Mar in San Antonio.

According to the announcement, Lloyd Barwood will provide the music for the sunset session, followed by an evening continuation at Café del Mar.

The announcement describes the 2 October event as part of the same Global Underground celebration and says the same ticket will provide access to the additional experience.

However, the official 528 event listing currently confirms the 1 October event, while I could not independently verify the 2 October programme through an official Café del Mar or Global Underground listing.

For that reason, the second date should currently be regarded as part of the announced programme rather than treated as independently confirmed in the same way as the 528 event.

A return to Ibiza

Global Underground has a long connection with Ibiza, with the label's own history referencing the island among the locations that have featured throughout its City Series.

The 2026 event at 528 brings together several artists who have contributed to that history, while placing the label's catalogue within one of Ibiza's newer large-scale outdoor venues.

The setting in the Benimussa Hills also allows the event to move naturally from afternoon and sunset hours into a late-night club programme.

October brings the anniversary celebration to Ibiza

The Global Underground event arrives during the final part of Ibiza's 2026 season.

For the label, the 528 date represents a celebration of three decades of releases, DJ mixes, parties and its distinctive City Series format.

With Deep Dish and Guy J leading the Garden programme before Dave Seaman, James Zabiela and Patrice Bäumel take over the Club, the 1 October event will bring several generations of Global Underground artists together for one night at 528 Ibiza.
